Good 10/10 and they are super friendly!
My sister and I stopped by yesterday evening, when we walked in the waitress didn’t greet us. She looked, finished talking to the gentlemen she was serving, and walked to the back- never to return for 10 minutes. Several customers came to pick up food, the bartender took care of them. But she never acknowledged us either. A guy with an apron came through on his phone. He didn’t look up. Based on reviews, The Island 601 | Jamaican is one of the best Caribbean spots in Meridian. The food is amazing, with amazing flavor and very nice portions. They do not hold back on the seasoning. From the oxtails to the jerk chicken, from the rice and beans to the mac n cheese, the food is truly delicious and as authentic as it gets. The customer service is even better, with welcoming and attentive staff who make sure everything is perfect. This is the best restaurant in Mississippi. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and get some food. It does not disappoint.
