The food used to be better. We went at 12:00pm and they didnt have much food at lunch time I didn't expect for there not to be but one pan of BBQ chicken..so I was very disappointed

This place was closed when we stopped by for breakfast. The note on the door only said that they were sorry that they were unable to serve breakfast at this time.

Went to this "restaurant" based on the reviews on this website. First impression do count. The place is dated in its appearance with a mold smell. They will not allow you in until you paid. Those tips should have been a warming before commiting to eat there. Silly us, we paid. As you go in the musty smell, and dated atmosphere continued into the dinning area. The tabletops were sticky. The floors were carpet which appear to have not been cleaned since Kennedy's assassination. Seriously? Does Mississippi has a Department of health? The meal choices are in a buffet. Most of the choices appeared to have been sitting there at least since the day before. Tried at least one of each of the choices that appeared as the most delectable. Each was bland and not fresh. So, hoping to spice things up a little, I took one of the "hot" sauces available at the buffet area. It was like spicing-up with water. In short, I am a hearty eater and could not finish that 1st plate. Afraid to have contacted COVID as my sense of taste and smell appeared to be blunted, asked the other members in our party about their opinion. All agreed the experience was horrible. Would only recommend the place if you are trying some sort crash diet and need to eat something somewhere where you can loose your appetite. Jenny Craig move over, here comes the Checkerboard Diet

Food was awful. How can you go wrong with bacon and sausage. Everything was nasty. Grits watery with lumps and undercooked. Biscuits was very hard. This was the whole buffet except there was eggs. Worst experience ever.

Want a real southern food and culture experience? You will get one here. The staff is friendly and you will find many authentic southern comfort foods on the buffet...fried green tomatoes, catfish, chicken, rutabaga, sweet potato, okra, greens etc. Twelve bucks gets you all you can eat, a drink and a desert.The ceiling is leaky and the place could use some repairs, but the friendly staff, food and southern family culture will likely keep you coming back.

It’s been over a year since I have eaten here. The food has went way down . I had hamburger steak, turnips and Mac and cheese. No taste whatsoever. Disappointed!

Great southern food. Just a short drive on the frontage road from interstate exit. Buffet style but served to us due to covid. Green beans, Mac & cheese, fried chicken, cream corn, fried okra. Yum. Others with me also had the fried fish, fried pork chops and collard greens. We all had clean plates.
