After eating Southern food on a road trip for over a week, I needed a good gluten free lunch. We chose San Marcos after looking at the menu on line and were unexpectedly blown away with the outstanding food and great service. The chicken fajitas (#19 lunch special) were moist and deliciously fresh, served with sizzling fresh onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. The accompanying corn tortillas, guacamole, and salad were also great. My husband really enjoyed his stuffed plablano pepper and tamale (#4) and about half of my fajitas. I ordered a small jalapeño margarita and was amazed to receive what would have been considered grande in San Antonio. It was a perfect jalapeño margarita! The chips and salsa were great, too! I wish we had such a great Mexican restaurant near our home in San Antonio! We will be back next time we are in Meridian!

There is a reason this is the only restaurant (business?) to survive in Meridian for over 150 years. This is the oldest restaurant in MS. You definitely want to try it! Food, service, and ambience are all top notch.

This place is an old favorite... I've been coming here for over 20 years. My whole family loves them. Wonderful owner. Food is always great, atmosphere, service, the whole 9 yards. The owner is a wonderful person. I love you guys 💜
