We have been here several times over the years and have enjoyed it in the past. This was a terrible experience. The steak was tough and inedible. The pasta was bland and the chicken tough. It took a long time to get the food. At this price, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

As usual, the food was phenomenal. We actually dined with you on two consecutive nights and can give you accolades for both nights. The steaks were unbelievably tender and cooked to perfection. On the second night, the pork chops, greens and sweet potatoes with superb. There was no room for desserts, but I'm sure they were excellent. George was our waiter and he was very attentive, courteous & beyond helpful. It is comforting to know that when you accidentally leave your credit card at the restaurant, you will receive a phone call before you can reach your next destination. I am thankful that OpenTable had my telephone number and the restaurant could give us a call.

We were told at the last minute when we arrived that the restaurant had a limited menu due to a booked party/meeting. I had to jump through hoops to get nice table. The waitress must have been on her first assignment since she got our order wrong. Not expected at such a highly rated place. Will not recommend or return. Bad management practices from the top it seems.

Usually we have a great experience This last one left more to be desired Our server was not very attentive And the repeat lamb lollipops were totally burnt and even though we shared our thoughts no one seemed to care

The experience was as expected and anticipated: a lovely meal in the mansion with nice service. The duck was well prepared and paired nicely with the bottle of wine.

We were staying at the Inn so it was nice to have a dinner not far from our room. I wish the menu had been a little more varied but we enjoyed what we had. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Wonderful dining experience! The house is beautiful, the service was great, and the food was delicious! Just wish we lived closer so we could go back more often!

Restaurant 1818 was a great experience. George was our waiter and was top notch! He was so welcoming and made us feel like we were right at home. The service was exquisite and the food was absolutely amazing! We even had desert!! It was great! We will be back!!

It was, yet again, a wonderful meal and experience! We had the grilled veal chop, cooked to perfection, and the duck. The sides went perfectly with the meat. Our server Rianna was great! Such a beautiful and elegant atmosphere. We walked the beautiful gardens before dinner, which is a can't miss opportunity. We will be back!

This was our fourth visit to 1818 at Monmouth and each time has been a consistently wonderful experience. The service is excellent. The ambiance is unique and very relaxing . The food never disappoints, I have had the filet , the redfish and the salmon special and all have been equally delicious. I highly recommend 1818 especially for couples looking for a truly romantic and five star dinner experience .

Absolutely phenomenal! Every plate was a crescendo of flavors, each surpassing the last, leaving us in awe. It was so extraordinary that we had to meet the mastermind behind it all—Chef Mike, whose talent is nothing short of genius. Our evening was elevated even further by George, our charming and attentive waiter, and Israel, the true artist behind the stunning food presentation. And let’s not forget Dai, the maitre’d, whose warmth and hospitality made us feel instantly at home. This wasn’t just a meal; it was an unforgettable culinary journey. The food, worthy of a Michelin star, was only rivaled by the incredible team that made the experience so special. Thank you for an unforgettable night!

Our waiter, George, went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was amazing. From the moment we sat down til the time we left, he was attentive and answered any questions we had. Both our meals were delicious. My husband had the filet and I had the chicken pasta. Would highly recommend for a relaxing intimate date night.

We've stayed at Monmouth and eaten there several times. The lamb lollipop and fried green tomato appetizers were DELICIOUS!!! My husband had the filet and said it was good but not as good for the higher price. I had the redfish and it would have been delicious but it was over cooked and very dry. The service was excellent. We know sometimes things are just off. We will return. It's a beautiful setting. We celebrated our anniversary there.

Visiting Nachez for the evening, got a late last minute reservation with chef staying on to accommodate us; struck gold! Professional, gracious staff in a beautiful setting, serving absolutely delicious food (best redfish in years). We and family visiting from Dublin (Ireland) were enchanted. Many thanks to George and the team; charming!
