This is the place to go for authentic Mexican food. We are from New Mexico and have struggled to find ANY where we liked. We have become regulars. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly and patient. Salsa bar has a lot of options to try. Stop by for a meal to fill your soul

The woman with the glasses when I first walked in was very rude, and not very welcoming at all. The tacos tasted good but they ended up giving me food poisoning.

On my way into Kroger‘s, I decided to go to Chucky’s deli, Mexicano and order something to go, and have it ready by the time I came out of Kroger. So I decided to try a torta. I have never had one before. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak torta. It was $13.99 and it was huge. It was very good, plenty of meat and the bread was nice. Next time I will get a more traditional Mexican torta.
This experience inspired me to go on quest to find my favorite torta. I have tried two more places for tortas.
At Esmeralda,s taco shop, I tried a El Pastor torta. It was also $13.99 and huge, but came with a generous serving of fries. The meat was very good, but Chuki’s had a little more meat. I liked the texture of the bread better at Esmeralda’s.
Next I tried Mississippi Old Town. I got the chicken torta to go. The guy who took my order, also prepared my torta. He gave me the order and charged me exactly $17.00. I gave him $20.00 and he gave me $3.00 change. I thought that’s the most expensive torta yet. As I was leaving, I asked if he had a take out menu. He gave me one, and I left. The torta was also huge and had a decent amount of meat. It was very good, though I didn’t like the bread as much as the other places. I was extremely disappointed when I got around to reading the carry out menu. The cost of all the tortas was $14.99. I am sure he purposely overcharged me, for that reason I would never go back, even though the food was good.

I will not be patronizing this place again. Young Hispanic lady with dark hair and two braids was at the front. I stood there 5 minutes and she did not acknowledge me. As soon as a white family came in she acknowledged them immediately and told them to have a seat.

I asked her “is she blind”? You’re stirring in my face and didn’t say a word. I have spent a lot of money with them. Never again will they get a dime from me. She definitely learned it from
Home.

Just love the people and the fact they can make what I want and know what I am talking about. Really nice place and my new regular place. This place is just... like home.

Their salsas are on point! Fast dishes, done well, not played out and sacrificing authenticity- rather catering the authenticity to the people. Burritos are great here, Sopes are cooked to perfection. If I come back here whenever I am in town! Prices are good!

The meat for the steak Fajita was very stringy and overcooked.
