I have never been treated the way the hostess treated me here. I walked in and tried to clarify that she was the hostess as the host station. was in the doorway. She said yes and left. When she came back she just ignored me and took care of the next person. Then she went to the next person. When I pointed out that I was there she pointe to the end of the line and told me to go there. I left but came back and asked to speak to a manager. When I explained what had happened to the manager she had no response. Silence. And there is really no explanation for what the hostess did. Unless it was age discrimination. I'm 72 and maybe she doesn't like older people? I dont know but I do know it was humiliating. So, I recommend staying away from this location. Oh, and this was not my first time here. I have been here a number of times. Every time I have been here the food is worse than before. They are living on a reputation they earned a long time ago but really no longer live up to. This experience just solidified how bad they have become. It is a shame they put that "Big Bad" name on their business. Larry Brown was a great writer. Also, he was my age. And to think this hostess would likely ignore him if he could somehow come back.

Very unique and cozy place for breakfast or lunch. I finally got to try it out this past weekend and loved it! I got a customized omelette that included country ham, cheese, sautéed onions, chopped tomatoes, and bell peppers. It was very delicious and I highly recommend if you’re ever in Oxford.

We had the breakfast wrap and the breakfast buiscuiy. The food was decent. Nothing spectacular. The smell of rotten eggs hit me when we walked into restaurant. Service was very slow. Waitress only came to check on us to order and right after our food was served. I know they were slammed but still. Don’t understand why this place was a 30+ minute wait.

Stopped by for breakfast and coffee this morning. I had scrambled eggs with cheese, crispy bacon, biscuit with sausage gravy, grits, and coffee. ☕️ My total came to $19 and some change. The food was great. These are some of the best grits I’ve had other than my own. The bacon was nice and crispy just like I requested. Three cups of coffee later and I finished my meal. The waitress was very friendly. We discussed the weather and mums. Nice little spot that definitely has that old timey diner feel. Vintage I’d say. I couldn’t afford to eat here often, but it’s great for an occasional splurge.

The food took around an hour to come out on a Monday afternoon. When it finally came out, the pancakes were cold and the sausage was burnt. I bit into a patty and it had some sort of ground up bone fragment in the patty. Our server was very nice though!

The food was great and the vibe was amazing, but our waitress honestly ruined the experience. She never checked on us, didn’t ask if we wanted refills, and I had to flag her down just to get the check. It felt like she was purposely ignoring our table and even gave us weird looks. I’m visiting my boyfriend at school and we’d heard really good things about this place, so we were excited to try it — but she definitely made things uncomfortable. I didn’t catch her name, but she had short brown hair and looked middle-aged.

Depending on the day/time and number of people in your party will determine the waiit time. It was just me so a 15-20min wait was reasonable. Avery the hostess was pleasant in setting expectations. The food was as they say was 'marvelous'. Abby the server, while busy was attentive. In a place like this you have to have patience in waiting for the food. Its worth the wait.
