Great night. My first visit to McEwen's. I will definitely make the short drive from Memphis again.

For a party of 12, we had amazing service. I wish I could remember the name of our waitress, because she was awesome! The servings were a little smaller than I expected, but everything tasted good. The scallops were really good, and I would definitely order again!

Their Old Fashioned is made with liquid bitters and simple syrup. This has been consistent in all of the restaurants I've visited in Oxford though, so it was to be expected, but still disappointing. It was also served with regular ice cubes, which I was also pretty disappointed in. My waiter, after going to check with the bartender on some of my questions, said he liked the Smokehouse Sunset. I said I would take it. It was pretty dang good! There's a lot going on in that cocktail and is pretty sweet, but I understand a lot of people like that. The biscuits served after being seated are wonderfully aromatic. They are light and fluffy on the inside with a wonderful, buttery crispiness on the outside. I'm not ashamed to say I ate two of them before my meal! The hostess was very polite. My waiter was as well. I appreciated his swiftness as he was attentive and checked in on me periodically without hovering. The cedar plank salmon was light, flaky, and buttery - BEAUTIFULLY cooked. I was a little disappointed by the lack of flavor. The green beans were cooked perfectly as well, but were also were lacking in flavor. The cheesecake of the day was cappuccino. Again, lacking in depth of flavor, but it was pretty tasty! I guess what I'm trying to say is, this place is geared towards certain clientele. Their food is cooked well, but has very little flavor. There is a decent range of wines, the ambience is rustic chique (maybe?? depending on where you sit), and the lighting doesn't make you feel like you're eating in a cave. The staff is great. Honestly, the staff may be the best part of this place second only to the biscuits. No, I'm kidding. They're better than the biscuits... which I ended up eating THREE OF.

Service was great, food was okay. My wife's sea bass was bland. It came with what was supposed to be mushroom risotto that had no taste. My steak was pretty good though. Too many options in oxford to be that underwhelming. The server was very attentive though

We loved it! Walker was our server and he was awesome! H took time to talk to us and answer our questions about the menu. We loved the cheese and sausage board, salmon entree, drunken chicken, and stellar Mississippi mud pie. Can't wait to go back!

Chicken on waffle: Chicken was very good. Waffle was tough, hard to even cut. French toast/croissant. Loved it on bread before, but didn't care for the croissant. Other four in our group enjoyed their BLT's and Grilled Chicken on salad.

We have been here a few times. Always 5+ star experience! Our waitress last night, Kenzie, is amazing. Will ask for her when we return. Our party had the Sea Bass, the scallops, and the crab cakes. Recommend all three!!

We had a WONDERFUL meal! I wish I knew our server's name because he deserves a shoutout! He was great. A tall guy with curly hair and really awesome tattoos and is from Tupelo- you were great thank you so much! Mcewens is definitely the best in town hands down. The oyster appetizer is phenomenal. Then I had the cod- holy moly. So good. But I've ventured to order other dishes there in the past and have not had a bad meal or dish I didn't love! We had delicious, fun martinis at the end for dessert- strawberry shortcake martini won the best. 10/10 love you Mcewens!

Excellent food and service. Our waiter was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He knew the menu well. Several of us had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked. I had the crab cake dinner portion (2 cakes), which was small but good with an interesting mix of tomatoes, okra and other vegetables around the crab cakes. Banana cream pie for dessert- several layers of smooth, creamy filling. We were in the restaurant on a night when the students were still on winter break so it was quiet and we had a nice, oval table at the front overlooking the Square. Reservations are suggested.

We had a wonderful experience here, from the outstanding service to the delicious food. Rush, our server, was very knowledgable and helpful, answering all of our questions and helping to point us in the direction of what we might like. Our wine pairing was excellent. We enjoyed the carbonara and the duck breast, both of which were delicious. We will be back!

In the Comments, I noted I was entertaining friends visiting from Denver and the waitress immediately welcomed them from Denver. The table I requested was also confirmed. Food & atmosphere was excellent

Our server, Kendall made the experience more enjoyable... wonderful lady that lady awesome service. Salad was great, appetizers ok, steak mediocre.. a bit over cooked (not level expected from McEwens). Love this place, but y'all have done better at food in past.

McEwen's check all the boxes! From their tasty drinks, to the farmers plate, and anything else that changes on the menu with the season. You won't be disappointed!
