Great food and good service
I live ten minutes away and the food was ice cold when I got home with it after getting it to go
Decided to try this restaurant differing from my fiancé and my self’s usual dinner date night, and we were NOT let down. The food was great! Service was amazing! And drinks were definitely MUCH better than what you get across the street! Our waiter, Vicente Hernandez ,was super nice and very polite! Surprised this place wasn’t packed!! Will definitely be back!
Overall good entrees. They need to work on their salsa. It’s the first thing you taste and It was basically like tomato purée or tomato paste. Not much “salsa” flavor. We were the ONLY customers in the restaurant on a Tuesday night between 6-7pm. The refried beans were inedible. Everything , especially their queso, was delicious! Just curious where everybody was? Never a good sign to see a completely empty restaurant. Hope they make it. Would give them another shot but really hope they work out their salsa recipe. That was so disappointing! Overall I’d give them 6/10 stars. Too many other options for Mexican in this town, you have to stand out with EVERY ITEM!
slowest service I’ve ever experienced.. stood around for about 30 minutes waiting for my order while the manager/host paid more attention to the pretty women and severed them first before anything. Expect a long wait if you’re not a pretty woman or college girl..
Probably the most underrated Mexican place here. The food is so good and well priced
Our favorite restaurant to eat authentic Mexican cuisine. I love their chile relleno made from roasted poblano peppers stuffed with cheese, dipped in a fluffy egg batter and fried until golden brown! Best in the state. Cook and owner are from Houston, Texas as close to San Antonio Mexican food as we have found☆☆☆☆☆
Well I must say this restaurant is the best one I have ever been to great food lots of great flavors customer service is awesome. Not only can I say this is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever ate at but yet the best restaurant In Mississippi.
The best Mexican restaurant in Mississippi. I have eaten at probably at least 100 Mexican restaurant in Mississippi from the Gulfport to Southaven. I’m telling you it would be hard to beat this restaurant. Friendly clean and awesome flavors but keep in mind this ain’t Taco Bell. It’s real Mexican food prepared by real Mexicans not an American Mexican. Other words there momma or grandma taught them how to cook. It reminds me of Mexico Cities cooking in the 70s. It’s great. I don’t think they can be beat. Always remember nobody can make everyone happy but I feel this restaurant gives 100% trying. Thank y’all for awesome food and hospitality. My whole family loved it.
Would’ve given 0 stars if possible. Pretty terrible service. The server told us that we couldn’t have a strawberry daiquiri because it was “too hard”, then gave a table of 3 girls 3 strawberry daiquiris about 5 minutes later. We didn’t get our order taken for over an hour, and got 0 refills on drinks the whole time we were there. Really bad service, food was serviceable, but experience with server ruined it.

Fresh, tasty food very reasonably priced.
Came to have dinner server took our drink left did not return manager came to take our order. She finally came back to get our order which was already taken by the manager. She handed me the check I set it down we were still eating came back and said I’ll take your card now. Again we were still eating. This has been a very bad experience and will not return
Walked in no one was there but a clueless dude who was scratching himself and wanted us to sit in a section full of dirty dishes needless to say we walked out
Just had a to-go order from here and both my husband and I were satisfied! It's one of the newest restaurant in town and we absolutely loved everything we had. The guy who took our order (possibly the owner? dunno) was super nice and friendly. Everything in our order was prepared correctly. The taste was good. The food in most other Mexican restaurants in Oxford are very salty to our taste but San Jose was just right in terms of the saltiness! All the ingredients seemed very fresh too, especially the veggies. We had shrimp burrito and shrimp chimichanga (we love our shrimps!), and they were not skimpy on the shrimps at all :)Definitely will be going back to try some other dishes too. Their horchata was also tasty!
