The food and service is reliably good. We have eaten there with out of town friends the past several weeks. The special on Fridays is a filet, which has been delicious and cooked to our requests (medium rare for me and medium for my husband). It came with fresh steamed vegetables, a choice of potatoes and bread. Our friend had the Mississippi fried catfish, which was heavily breaded. Another friend had the fried chicken tenders, and she enjoyed them. One thing to be aware of is the temperature in the restaurant- it is always very cold. Bring a coat!

Had the honey buffalo chicken sandwich. Let me just tell you something. The honey and buffalo combination slapped me like the clap back from the other night. Could have used more buffalo in the mixture but was still up to par. The fries were greatly seasoned just like how mama used to make them.

We used Tallahatchie Gourmet to cater my son's wedding. The food was fantastic and the staff was nice, however, when we were finalizing everything a week and a half before the date (which is when they wanted to, we tried to talk sooner), we were hit with a $1500 "alcohol license and tax fee" that was never listed in the original estimates. It was too late to negotiate so we were stuck.

I was looking forward to eating catfish. What a huge disappointment this restaurant was. The server was nice enough. The service and atmosphere were okay, but nothing great. My catfish was very overcooked. The ends were not even edible. The hush puppies were burnt and tasted awful. The fries are crinkled frozen fries. It was not a good dining experience.

We were in Oxford for a concert. Arrived in town way before the show for brunch. Tried a different place, no way we we’re getting in. We went to the “Square”, parked, walked in, and there was immediate seating at the bar. We took it. I had the shrimp n grits… they were amazing! I chase this dish everywhere I go. It was so good, I don’t even remember what my hubby had. He was not displeased! Bar staff was on their game. Attentive, and friendly. Great service all around! I recommend!

Food was good. I had my first purple hulled peas. Gannon did a great job with service. It was nice to sit outside. It was a little chilly inside but glad you were open a Monday.

Went to dinner at Talahatchie Gourmet with a guest. I had not been to the restaurant in a while. I was happy to see that the restaurant had weathered the onslaught of the Pandemic. The menu is limited, which is good in my opinion, I think if a menu is too expensive the chefs might have trouble maintaining consistency of quality. We both had the Van Buren burger..loaded. Our burgers were well cooked, and this was the first time in a long time that the burgers were not bitter or tasted burnt. The fries were good too. I considered getting desert but entrees were ample and satisfying. The service was fast, yet not rushed and friendly.

Sunday Brunch! So good! Their service is great- the servers are prompt and extremely friendly! It is a cute place sort of tucked away! Don't miss going there! Oh I do like the frozen casseroles to take home for a delicious quick dinner.

I had the meatloaf with vegetables. I don't know how anyone eating it could go back to work without taking a nap. I was so full i should have been ashamed. Excellent TG.

Cool place, downtown! Really enjoyed the beignets - very similar to crobars. The po boys were just average. Fries were a bit undercooked. Shrimp and grits were good. Service was friendly but a bit slow and forgetful. Cute place but could use a little sprucing up.

Food is good. Not too fancy . Simply just good food in oxford! It can get busy. Great to order for Thanksgiving and events too.
