Under new management, The Growler has gone downhill fast. The beer selection is still good, but food and cocktails are both significantly worse in quality and value. For example, here is a picture of a $5 plate of fries. There are a total of 16 fries on the tray, which works out to 31¢ per fry. If you’re going to switch to middling quality frozen food, at least be generous with the quantity.

The Growler is the ideal spot in Oxford to hang out with a group of friends and grab some great beer on tap! I've been to The Growler quite a few times and have always had a great experience. I decided to swing in this week while back in town and it really held up. The staff working the bar are consistently awesome - they're personable, quick, and extremely helpful. The beer is always well poured. Their food is always great for the atmosphere. Some places tend to get lazy when serving bar food, but that is not the case for The Growler. There is so much seating available if you are planning to hang out with friends, and they have a few tvs and games available for use. It is somehow also a great spot for working - I have typed many, many papers here and have somehow never been too distracted despite this place often being filled with groups of people.

Wow, so the beer selection is good and that's what you would go there for. As far as the food, sub par. Got a double smash burger with embarrassingly small over-cooked meat patties and they were out of cheddar so the pepper Jack but wouldn't have mattered. My partner got a Philly cheese steak which was the size and value of something from a gas station fridge. Can't say about anything else they have. Won't be back.

We had an enjoyable Sunday afternoon at The Growler. The atmosphere was cool and the vibe was chill. It was a nice place to spend the afternoon. The Growler has a great selection of beer that should suit most tastes. They have food as well, but we didn't order anything to eat.The staff was friendly and very good at recommending a beer selection. If you are in Oxford and want a craft beer, this is the place to visit! I look forward to returning on my next visit to Oxford.
