Perfect spot with an amazing atmosphere for adults to celebrate special occasions. Dates, anniversaries, families visiting college students, etc. looking for an upscaled dining experience. Amazing food by an amazing, award winning chef and staff, all of which have gigantic hearts, and they pour ever my ounce into what they do. You won’t find better food or service within a reasonable drive. It’s the ideal spot to go if you want to hire a baby sitter and enjoy a special night out with your spouse and or loved ones. That being said, it’s unfortunate that we live in a world full of selfish, entitled, inconsiderate pricks who don’t care about anyone else but themselves. It’s a small dining room with tight table spacing. It only takes one feral, screaming toddler throwing food everywhere while their inconsiderate, selfish, entitled prick for a parent completely ignoring their behavior to ruin that for the 50 some odd other people who have looked forward to a special night out. I’ll die on this hill. Sola just said what everyone else was thinking. Leave your screaming, food throwing toddlers with a sitter, or go to chilis.

great place to go, unless you're an inconsiderate walnut who wants to ruin the atmosphere and leave a huge mess for the staff to clean up. then you should stay home.

Love this place. My kids love eating here with us they know not to scream or throw their food around if they did we would take our meals to go and try another time. Staff is all very hard working and accommodating.

My husband and I have been wanting to try SoLa for years, but since we’re not local, it never quite worked out during visits to my parents—until last night. It was absolutely worth the wait and the anticipation! The shrimp & grits, Brussels sprouts, oysters, veal Oscar, ducky dumplings, and toffee dessert were all excellent. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and took wonderful care of our party of six. We can’t wait to come back!

Came to Oxford for parents weekend and Sola was recommended by our daughter. The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal. The price of the meal reflects in the quality of food served. The atmosphere, quaint and upscale while personal to the size of the restaurant. Met the owner for a quick moment and what a phenomenal job she is doing with her business. Staff was excellent and attentive to the service provided. I selected the Truffle Pasta and it was one of the best Italian dishes I have consumed since living in Italy for 4 years. The Ducky Dumplings and Parmesan Truffle Fries were flavorful as well. Additionally we had a few drinks from the bar and prices were reasonably priced considering the location. Overall a great experience and one we will repeat when we are in Oxford again.

Update 11.30.2025:
Tonight was wonderful. It wasn’t overly crowded at all, and everything we ordered was delicious. I had a medium rare ribeye, Sweet Chili Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, and a side of grits. I also tried the Autumn Cherry Mule and the Backwoods Old Fashioned. Both were amazing additions to the meal.
Hostess and server were amazing and very attentive. Restaurant and bathroom were clean and inviting. I brought my mom and we had a wonderful time.

With it being spring break, it was not overly crowded at all. The atmosphere first off was quiet and welcoming. The hostess immediately greeted us and set us down with a smile on her face.
Our waitress was very kind and described everything in great detail. We have never visited before and was informed greatly. The menu was simple but had great options to choose from. We ordered the grilled parmesan oysters, and they were perfectly grilled and well seasoned. I paired it with their house made sweet potato hot sauce. Delicious to say the least. My husband ordered the prime rib steak, and it came with rice and broccoli. My goodness, it was good. Medium rare just like we like it. I ended up getting the brazed short ribs and honey Dijon mustard Brussel sprouts, and a bed of house made potatos and gravy! I am telling you. It was so good, and the short ribs were extremely tender. That isn't something you'd want to miss out on. We will definitely be back and do it all over again!

Top tier service! We went on spaghetti night and the 5 dollar wine paring. You seriously can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a nice dinner on any given night

The overall experience was wonderful. Our party all said we could make a meal on the brussel sprouts alone! Hard to find any shortfall, but the wait staff could pay a bit more attention to detail such as keeping drinks refilled timely and fresh spoons for dessert. Overall a close to perfect experience.

My wife and myself went last night for our 38th wedding anniversary. First of all, I was surprised they didn’t bring bread to the table. We ordered two appetizers and two entrées. I explained that I can’t eat sesame seeds in anything to my waitress. My dumplings came out of the kitchen with sesame seeds all over them. The other appetizer was the Brussel sprouts. They were unusually hard and had a sauce that reminded me of a jarred sweet-and-sour sauce from the supermarket. The dumplings didn’t come till way into my entrée. Entrée was the fish and it was not bad. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. My wife had the manicotti. I’m a Sicilian from New York City so I guess this is pretty rough, but it was very safe. I couldn’t taste any garlic in it at all and it was just lackluster. So this is my explanation for why I gave just an average review.

My wife and I went in here for dinner on a Friday night and their steak was the best I have had in years- didn't need any reservations either! My wife said her seafood dish was good too. Good atmosphere, service, and amazing food. We will be back and had a very pleasant experience!

It was a very nice place to settle in and eat. I love the seating, the model of the whole place and great waiter service for sure, the staff were very interested in getting my husband and I fed and relaxed, let us know about the specials they had going on and all for that evening. Also, I ordered the Italian crunch salad and omg that was the best salad I had ever tasted before seriously, so yes this place is highly recommended !
