Bacchus On The Beach

This is a restaurant that has an outside bar so it can be casual or if you like a refined dining area the indoors offers that. I would call this restaurant and bar, cozy atmosphere indoors outdoors a beach vibe. You can see part of Pass Christian Harbor, and Highway 90 from the patio and bar area.
The food was excellent, ordered half a dozen of char broiled and oyster Rockefeller. The Rockefeller oysters were soooo yummy! Charro oysters were a little on the small side if I do say so myself. They have a decent size menu that offers a variety, but it is not too busy.
They also have a well stocked bar and offer many different specialty drinks for any pallet.
The atmosphere is awesome. Food is very good. Our server seem to be scattered and not very attentive. I would’ve understood it if had been extremely busy but on this day and they were very slow so maybe she was just having an off day who knows.

Super chill outdoor seating & our server Penelope was amazing! She was so accommodating with my dietary restrictions and was just lovely all around!

"Famous" pork chop was not that great. Not bad but I have had better. The other food order was good.

I eat here all the time. One of the few restaurants that never compromised quality of their food in the last 2 years. They did have to increase prices though. However they have specials Monday thru Thursday that are delicious with a very reasonable price.

Debris fries was good. Shrimp poboy was not so good. It was dry and the shrimp did not taste fresh. Gumbo was horrible. Thin brown gravy with small dried shrimp in it, rice was not fully cooked. Waitress was not that friendly. She was more like what can I get you, here it is, goodbye. Whole bowl of gumbo was left and she didn’t bother to ask if something was wrong with it. We asked for no charge on gumbo since only one bite was taken out of it. She still didn’t ask if something was wrong with it. Guess she knew. On the plus side she did not charge us for the gumbo.

Granted it was crowded, however, the hostess said our wait would be “10 to 15 minutes” - she took my cell # and said would call when table was ready. I waited at outdoor bar -after 30 min I went back in and checked on our table - they were running around with their hair on fire and told me to wait. After another 30 min I went back inside - the hostess told me she tried calling and I didn’t answer- I showed her my phone - no call. She then argued with me. The only reason I’m giving them two stars is that I’ve been here many times - great outdoor atmosphere but food is lacking / could use a menu refresh and focus on customers. Shaggy’s is always looking like the better choice.

Missed not having the hushpuppies which were part of the advertised Wednesday night special. Just shrimp and $2.00 extra for zucchini instead of fries. The shrimp bisque, however, is delicious!

The Flounder Special was great! Plus the charbroiled oysters were awesome.

Waiter was fantastic, blonde haired dude was super respectful and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was absolutely amazing. Every bite better than the last. I got catch of the day she got scampi. Char broiled oysters were a hit as well

Great food with the best view! Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Bacchus while visiting the coast. Delicious!
