My buddy—normally the quiet one—said he had a place in mind. That alone was strange enough to pique my interest. We left Long Beach and took what felt like a hundred turns through the backroads of Mississippi, chasing something undefined. We found it at Grog’s. From the outside, it looked like your standard country bar. Inside? Something better. A place for everyone. Grungy enough to feel real, clean enough to order food without second-guessing. And we did—chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, fries. Served on paper plates, washed down with drinks so cheap I thought the bartender had made a mistake. She hadn’t. She was just that good. Pool tables open, locals friendly, no pretense. Just a place where you can sit, eat, drink, and be whoever you are. I’ll be back. You should go.

You would think they could afford some heating in that place.
Well, I only gave this place four stars because I did not try any food. Don’t even know if they have any or not. But everything else was good. Decided to check them out on a Saturday night….. It doesn’t look like much on outside inside there are pool tables of course a bar, some tables and chairs to sit at and it just so happened that they were doing karaoke Saturday night. It seems like a nice place to hang out. They have pool tables in the back and a few electronic dartboards pretty much. This is a laid-back establishment. In my opinion. I’m sure it has really busy times but this particular Saturday evening it was not very crowded and pleasant. They have several types of beer on tap, not to mention bottle beers also, and of course, the bartenders can make your favorite concoction of liquid liquor libations.
