I was fortunate to dine here on June 28, 2024, to celebrate the birthday of an a 86-year-old friend. There were more than 20 people at the table but only 2 servers for the entire Friday evening crowd. The lady who took care of us was exceptional; there is no other word to describe her: she was truly exceptional. She took everyone's orders, worked as quickly as she could while still attending to other numerous guests. Due to the large order, she indicated it might take a little longer to prepare. That was not a problem since it allowed the rest of us to socialize and enjoy each other's company. Once served, the food was hot, tasty, and generous in portions. I ordered the crab cakes; there were 4 generous-sized cakes along with a portion of French fries, hush puppies, and Cole slaw. I ordered 2 baked potatoes and 1 whole catfish on the side. My wife and I ate the potatoes, she ate the catfish, and I took the remaining food home. Seeing that the crab cakes looked so delicious, I ordered 2 more to take home. I was very impressed with the service, the food, the professional staff, and interior seating. No, this is NOT a large restaurant and parking was on a dirt/gravel lot--but that was not a problem. The price for the meal was very reasonable. I was able to get an additional serving of cocktail and tartar sauces for me to take home. Their flavor was just as tasty as were the crab cakes and French fries. I can't wait to go back.
A great small town restaurant…exactly as it needs to be. Love the tartar sauce. The fish and shrimp were perfect.
Friendly staff. Always happy to eat there.

The fish is usually excellent. The service is usually terrible and has only gotten progressively worse over the years. After this time, we won’t be back.I ordered all you can eat fillets and my wife ordered the small (2) fillet plate. The waitress brought out two plates, each with two fillets and never came back. My wife’s fillets were perfect but mine were soggy and luke warm. I thought, oh well maybe the next round will be hot. No such luck, as there wasn’t a next round. We finished eating and I walked the kiddo out to the truck while my wife settled up. When she got the check, the waitress had to change my order to a 2 fillet plate, since that’s all I ever got. Then she told my wife I had changed my order to a small plate. That part was just completely made up, and it’s the straw that broke this camel’s back. She wouldn’t own her mistake. While we were eating, the table next to us waited for fifteen minutes to never get their drinks, and got up and left. I left fairly hungry.Having worked in the industry, I know food service can be difficult, so here are some pointers, if anyone there wants to improve:1. Don’t seat more tables than your servers and kitchen can handle. If you only have two servers, don’t expect them to wait on ten+ tables, each. They cannot. Either hire more servers, or turn people away at the door.2. Get a credit card machine that was made in this century. The line out the door bottlenecks while people wait for the card machine to process tickets. Consider getting two of them.3. Meet with your crew at least weekly to discuss what needs improvement. They should be able to identify pain points that management might not see.4. Honestly, if I were you I’d seriously consider switching to the food truck/trailer model and nix table service altogether. You’d still need a new card machine. You’re not the only fish house in town anymore. You’ve got to step up your game if you want to compete.

Place is a joke took 10 minutes to place an order, I was looked over but 3 employees, before I could place my order. Waited 35 minutes for my fish. I will never come back! Rude and the looks I was given while waiting for my food. And the old guy at the register only cares and talks to the people he knows. Can't believe this place is still in business, should have gone to cuevas's.
Fish is just okay, slow service, and if you are willing to eat here make sure you have cash or a check as back up. After eating we were informed the credit card machine was down. Nobody had a back up plan… they couldn’t take PayPal, CashApp, Zelle, or Venmo - so I offered to just run down to the bank and left my husband and 2 year old there waiting for me. The first bank ATM would not take my card, went down to Hancock and they were there emptying the ATM so I finally just went into Ramey’s pulled my cash out and finally made it back so we could pay and go home… after the 3rd place (Rameys) they said we could mail them a check on Monday… ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This was my first time here and the experience was awful… They acted as is they were inconvenienced and didn’t even offer a discount for our trouble. Their excuse for the credit card machine being down was because of a “power surge” ? I understand things happen but from what I picked up on during the conversation was - they needed to update their machine and get with the times.
Fried pickles way too salty, strong fish taste in catfish, (I know it's fish but I've had catfish before that didn't leave a strong fish taste in your mouth) and cold
