Fresh authentic Mexican food. Get the nachos
Understand why staff quits or doesn’t show up …Disappointed in the way majority of the staff treat their colleagues including one manager in particular. She’s very messy and I regret referring anyone to apply under her management. The feedback my loved one’s had, it was reflected how poorly the main hiring manager (female) handles situations when brought professionally. She spins the situation and makes it more messy and it’s unproductive and unnecessary as well as unprofessional, a more mature manager needs to be in leadership and Jessica removed, when you fake it eventually it’ll catch up.
The food is not something I would describe to come back to and continue to recommend, it’s bland and nothing really stands out. The adult beverages are pretty delicious when made to your preference. The bartenders I have encountered there are all prompt and professional. Change up the food with giving some flavor make it stand out and then I’m sure the other low reviews on the food would be improved. The supply of food runs out quickly, not due to many purchases from customers, it’s due to low purchases for stock.
Not authentic Mexican food, not one Hispanic person working there. The service was good but the food was disgusting.
My wife and I stopped over in Ridgeland during a recent road trip back to Texas. Our hotel was very close and convenient to Sombra. So glad we tried this restaurant. After reading many negative reviews, we were totally blown away with the food quality and service. This was one of the best meals we've had the entire road trip. Evan was our server and was so courteous and accommodating during our visit. This is a must try restaurant if you are in the area. We cannot wait for our next visit. You will not be disappointed.

Upscale Mexican cuisine with many pescatarian options. Always a favorite when I'm near Ridgeland, MS.

Location is nice , but the food is terrible. I ordered the 3 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The rice deff doesn’t give Mexican rice. It tasted as if they cooked a bowl of white rice and added tomato paste to them. It’s definitely a white version of a Mexican restaurant

A friend of mine took me here for my birthday. The atmosphere was nice, our waiter (which I assume was the manager) was decent and quick with our drinks. My food was partially cold and I'm not sure what that was about. But the waiter/manager was pretty cool! I didn't give a full 5 stars because we got there, maybe 30 minutes before they closed. Still, it was nice.

My girlfriend ordered the lunch chalupas with grilled chicken and the side salad with blue cheese dressing to go after eating in the restaurant with a friend. Erika was the waitress. When she got home, there was no grilled chicken as ordered for the chalupas, no side salad, and no bluecheese dressing, no cheese, or pico degalo. The chalupa shells were brown and as hard as a brick. She called the restaurant to tell them about the screwed up to go order, and that is when they told her they don't have blue cheese dressing. She asked them why didn't the waitress (Erika) inform of that when the order was placed? Nothing but crickets in response. My girlfriend then had to ask three times to speak to the manager. When they finally got him on the phone, she told him what happened and then requested a refund for the screwed up to go order. He refused, but offered a gift certificate instead. He didn't say for how much on the phone. Now the lunch clalupa meal was $11.90 + tax and tip. She drove 20 miles back to the restaurant to pick up the gift certificate which was only for $10 when she arrived, which didn't even cover the cost the screwed up order. We usually eat there quite often, but after this, we won't be back to eat there again. The food and service have gone down hill. We highly recommend that everyone take their business elsewhere to eat! Seems you no longer get what you pay for at Sombra in Ridgeland, MS.
