No greeting from hostess upon entering establishment. Had to ask waitress for a refill and a bread basket. The au grain creamed spinach was delicious. I had a ribeye steak that was cooked perfectly however it lacked seasoning. I was so disappointed that my steak had absolutely no seasoning other than being cooked in butter. Y’all should link up with Trotter’s Market for their steak seasoning.

My husband called and made a reservation for Valentines Day over a month in advance. He also called the week before and then again the day of to confirm they had our reservation. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time and were told it would be an hour wait. When asked, the hostess said they weren’t doing reservations, however I found a post made by the Tico’s Facebook page encouraging people to make reservations for Valentines Day. As we were waiting, we heard the same thing happen to many people that came in after us. We stayed and waited because by this point it was after 7 and we knew we had no other option. The food was not bad but not worth the wait I would say. Also by the time they seated us they had run out of several menu items, including Ribeyes

My husband made a reservation for Valentine’s Day over a month ago for 7pm. He even called earlier in the day to confirm. Once we arrived, we were told it would be an hour wait, even with a reservation. We waited for over an hour just for there to still be several people “in line” in front of us- not even sure how that’s possible when you have a reservation. Everyone who walked in had the same experience- saying they had a reservation but being told it would be an hour to an hour and an half wait. Given it’s Valentine’s Day, it’s really upsetting considering there’s not many other last minute options for dinner. Extremely disappointed with how everything was handled and will not be returning.
We had reservations that we made weeks before. Told we were going to have to wait 1 hr and 30 min. Even though I had called earlier to confirm my reservation. Workers were rude especially the bar tenders.

Had a reservation set four weeks in advanced. Called the day of and they confirm. When we arrived at our assigned time, told us it would be an hour and a half wait. Decided to get drinks while we wait and the bartender was very rude. Heard her over talk with the other bartender she was going to add 30% gratuity to our check. Paid for drink, didn’t drink them, and left it was that bad!

First time to do Tico’s and didn’t believe it was at it best the night I was there. Had a very friendly hospitality host whom stay on top of our table of four and check on us frequently plus kept our adult beverages full. The steak was okay but for the price felt it should have been more of a quality cuts, not as tender it should’ve been. Seems the eating area was kinda on the dark side with lighting which make an appearance looks shady looking like. Will try again soon to determine if it was a bad night or what.

I feel in this political environment that politics should be left out of business. Campaign signs in the window of a 3 - 4 star restaurant are not only distasteful, but tacky. Just my opinion and don't worry, we won't be back.
Worst filet I have ever had, all over the US. Also the “market price” ribeye was $120. The potatoes were mediocre. Will not be back. Can think of way better ways to spend $400.
This was my first visit and it happened to be my birthday. Hands down, the best steak I've ever had. Everything was amazing . I'm not sure why my reservation I completed through OT wasn't received; however, the restaurant was still able to accommodate me. Definitely would recommend!

Very disappointed. The service was fitful, not very attentive. Had to attract the attention of the waitress to get anything.
The bartender had no idea how to make an old fashioned, but after the first one was sent back, it was mostly simple syrup, they were somewhat better, but not a good old fashioned. Get a trained bartender.
The meal was very hit and miss. Everyone enjoyed the sides, but the steaks were very grisly, fatty and tough. Not what I expect from an upscale steakhouse, particularly at those prices.
Won’t be going back.

I had been meaning to try Tico's for months because it came highly recommended, but my experience was largely disappointing. I’ll start with the positives: the staff is friendly and attentive. Our waitress, Lo, was excellent and promptly took our orders.
Unfortunately, the food was overpriced and underwhelming. The garlic bread was overly salty, and the asparagus was tough and stringy. However, the dealbreaker was the large filet. I noticed a peculiar odor when it arrived, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Immediately after cutting into it and taking a bite, it tasted completely spoiled, and I had to spit it out.
The manager did remove the steak from my bill, which I appreciated, but I am baffled by the lack of quality control that allowed spoiled meat to leave the kitchen. Even my friend, whose steak wasn't rancid, felt the flavors were mediocre at best. For these prices, the safety, seasoning, and presentation should be much better. I cannot recommend this place—go to Char instead.

Fantastic spot. Killer vibe and vintage old restaurant feel. Talented staff and wonderful food. Possibly the absolute best cheesecake I’ve ever had. The bar is fun on its own but this place is absolutely a staple and a gem of the Jackson area.

My wife and I recently visited Tico’s for a special date night. This was our second time dining there — our first visit was with a larger group, so we didn’t really get a fair feel for the restaurant.
This time, we were pleasantly surprised. The food and service were both very good. We each ordered a filet, cooked perfectly to our preferred temperatures and lightly seasoned, but flavorful. The sides were rich and well presented, adding nicely to the meal.
Tico’s has a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that works well for either a date night or dinner with another couple. The décor, especially the interesting wall photos, adds to the charm.
While I felt the prices were slightly on the high side for what we received, overall, Tico’s is a solid choice for a quality meal and good company.
