Located in the former Chicken Supreme location, 1836 is now open. The inside of the business has been refreshed. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and business was light at the time. We were immediately seated, and our drink orders were taken. A few minutes later we had our food orders taken. Our food arrived promptly, and it was hot and fresh. The grilled chicken sandwich was made with 2 big chicken strips. They had a delicious seasoning on them, and were not dry. The home fries are a bit greasy, but came out hot as well. Service was good, however our server never came back to check about refills. The place was clean and well kept, and seemed a bit brighter inside than what it was when the other restaurant was there.
Parking: The parking lot is a bit small, so parking may be difficult during busy hours.

What a great place to eat! We all got different dishes and loved each one. I highly recommend the shrimp po boy. The restaurant itself was clean, inviting, and had wonderful staff. We can't wait to go back!

This was the worst meal experience I’ve had in a long time. We arrived before 8:00 on Saturday night. They had already put up the salad bar and were out of baked potatoes. The French fries were limp and greasy with no salt. The okra was barely cooked as was the chicken in my fried chicken sandwich. They started sweeping the floor before our food arrived like we were keeping them late. It was our first and last time to eat here.

Oh my gosh I have eaten at restaurants all over this country and even in the UK and I am a picky eater so when I tell you the food here was amazing with Texas size portions, holy cow it was wonderful!! When I tell you, the staff was on top of everything, I never had to ask for anything constantly checking on us it was clean I highly recommend and I will be going back. Takes me almost 2 hours to get there, but it is totally worth the drive.
