Poor management is the biggest problem here. They're constantly out of things and the food isn't usually fresh.
This is the worst Newks in the area! We had lunch here one afternoon and it was awful. The restaurant was dirty and even had a sour smell. We still decided to eat anyway, just thinking that it must just be an off day for the staff. The next visit was just as bad, dirty and the girl at the counter was just rude. She took our order and we sat down. And waited and waited and waited and waited 40 minutes. When our food arrived, the server let me know that they were out of the lobster bisque soup, which I was ok with, even tho that was the soup for the day (?) She offered me something else so I chose broccoli cheese. I waited an additional 20 minutes for this cup of soup. When it arrived it was 1/2 of a cup of soup, cold. I then went to the counter at the kitchen and asked to please fill my cup up and microwave it. I was then told they were out of broccoli cheese (?) I was told that I got the last in the pot. This all really surprised us because the times weve had been here its NEVER busy. We are starting to understand why. Its obvious that someone hasnt been properly trained on how to order the groceries for this location. The manager was very kind and offered me a $10 gift card. We came back a week later and used the gift card. This time the food was just bad and cold. But hey we got $10 off! So now its the day after Christmas. After a long cold morning of exchanging gifts and extra shopping we decide one more time to give this Newks location a chance. Before I even order lobster bisque I asked the bitchy girl at the counter do you have lobster bisque soup today? Im assured they do BUT no avocados for the Turkey AVOCADO sandwich....go figure! $50 + for lunch and we wait yet again 40+ minutes for food. Theres 1 girl (bitchy girl) at the counter 1 server (wearing a hair net) and two guys on the line in the kitchen. Oh and I busser. This is one of the busiest shopping days of the year and 5 people are working this location. They bring my husband lobster bisque but me, none, they are out??? I couldnt contain myself and had to speak to the manager. His answer to me after my complaint was "I apologize your unhappy, have a nice day" My husband took over then and relentlessly the, I guess manager, gave us a full refund which we will be watching our credit card for. Never again. The location on Getwell and Goodman is way better. Maybe yall ought to have someone from their store come train this one.
Prices are high for the quality of food. At almost entire meal before about 4 tables around us were cleaned off.
Salmon, rigatoni with meat sauce and salad were very good this evening. Tish is always a great waitress.
Placed my order at the same time as my coworker. He received his food in a normal amount of time, but mine was M.I.A. for an additional 13 minutes. My coworker attempted to be polite by waiting for me to get my food before he ate his. I insisted that he go ahead. HE actually got up, and found someone to check on the status of my order, and was told "they were coming". Food finally arrived with no apology for the delay, or explanation of the delay. Probably, an uncharacteristically poor performance by the staff at this place. But, this was my first visit to any Newk's. Needless to say, it didn't increase my odds of returning.
