Jordan our server was wonderful and made sure we enjoyed our time. The food was middle of the road as the quality of the meat wasn’t the greatest. For the money charged, I expected much better.

Great service, our waiter was incredibly kind. We got two entres an appetizer and a desert and it was still a great price for all the wonderful food we got. The skirt steak was incredible as well as the goat cheese fondue. They were nice enough to gift us a desert on the house for our occasion. Will be coming back as soon as possible!

One of the top three filet mignon I've ever had! The calamari appetizer was Devine and so ample.

I have been to this restaurant 10s of times & it has progressively gotten worse. Unfortunate.

Was a very nice place to share an evening with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. Great service, food and atmosphere.

My father was a chef, the original owner of J. Broussard's in Columbus MS, Joseph Broussard. I was training and supervising grown men in his kitchen when I was in middle school. That being said, I am NOT easily impressed when I eat at a high-end restaurant. I usually leave high-end restaurants thinking about how much better I could have prepared the food, myself, regretting the amount of money that I've spent. This wasn't the case when I took my wife to 44 Prime for her birthday, tonight. I was VERY impressed by both the food and the quality of the service. The male server had a well-manicured beard, and a positive vibe that made the entire experience more relaxing for my wife and myself. He thoroughly attended to our every desire, but still gave us the space we needed to really enjoy each other's company. He had the perfect combination of professionalism and chill vibes. The fried crab claws were excellent. The remoulade served with them was delicate enough that it didn't overpower the flavor of the claws. My wife and I each ordered a ribeye, and they were both cooked perfectly to our preferred temperatures. The sear on the steaks was flawless. I had mine topped with truffle butter, and it was a perfect complement to the high-quality meat. The green beans that I had with my steak weren't overcooked. They actually seemed like they might have been blanched to order. I found them quite impressive, as I did every aspect of this fine dining experience. I feel like we really got what we paid for, and I will definitely be back next time I feel like celebrating with a great meal.

Fabulous service, great food. The ribs were great, but the chicken entree was amazing! Total rockstar. I will be re-creating the goat cheese/marinara app at home. Ask for John as he rocked as our server.

The restaurant is very attractive and our service was excellent. The food was subpar. I had shrimp cocktail which was inedible because the shrimp were so mealy they dissolved in the mouth. I sent it back. I also had the small plate cauliflower which had a decent flavor, but was chopped fine with too much sauce. It was like a side dish, not a small plate. Dining companions had the pork chop, flounder, and salmon. The pork chop and flounder were deep fried with thick crust like one would get at a meat and 3 cafe. Edible but just passable. No flavor. The salmon dish was by far the best of the 4, was cooked properly and very tasty. The bread side was very good. Our server was outstanding and very polite. This restaurant has possibilities—I really wanted to like it! Hopefully they will improve.

I have celebrated numerous birthdays with 44 Prime and so far each experience has been stellar. Our waiter John I believe was his name was very professional, warm, and attentive. Our meal was delicious as I've come to expect nothing less from 44 Prime! Thank you for the sweet treat for my 60th birthday it was everything!

Review for 44 Prime – Starkville, MS
From the outside, 44 Prime presents itself as an upscale, polished dining option. The dress code posted on the door — no flip-flops or gym shorts (though dress shorts are acceptable) — sets the expectation that the restaurant values a certain level of formality. Inside, the atmosphere is elegant, with refined lighting. The hostess was professional, though not particularly warm, and we were seated comfortably.
For starters, we ordered raw oysters. We were initially pleased that the oysters were small (something we personally enjoy), but several of them appeared bruised and dark in color, which made us hesitant to eat them. Additionally, the crackers provided as accompaniments were stale.
For entrées, we tried the Lamb Shank with creamed spinach and the Duck with au gratin potatoes. While the plating was neat, the presentation lacked appeal and unfortunately reflected the taste. The duck was dry, under-seasoned, and had a rubbery texture. The lamb shank also lacked seasoning and depth of flavor.
Still, we thought dessert might redeem the evening and chose the lemon cake with strawberry glaze. Unfortunately, it was very dry and dense — the least enjoyable dish of the night.
On a positive note, our server was attentive, kind, and consistently pleasant throughout the evening. Her service was the highlight of the experience and is the reason we left a generous tip, despite the disappointing food.
In the end, while the atmosphere and service showed promise, the food did not meet expectations for an establishment that positions itself as upscale. Because of this, we likely would not return.

Brooklyn was our waitress and she was fabulous. The food was exceptional. Best calamari I have ever eaten. We had been looking forward to this evening for quite a few weeks and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend

Had a really good meal My steak was perfectly cooked, and the chop salad was excellent. The asparagus tasted too salty in my opinion, but it was otherwise cooked well. My wife was also very happy with her food.

Our table looked out over the rest of the restaurant, which affected the intimacy of our date night, but that was my only quibble.
