Been wanting to try this for a couple of years. With it always being crowded and my vegetarian daughter having limited options, I finally was able to convince my son to go on Friday after the egg bowl. After a longer than expected wait, we ordered almost as soon as we sat down and the food arrived timely.I chose the Waffle Platter with Scrambled Eggs, Grits & Sausage. The waffle and sausage would have been plenty. I can see why they are known for their Duck Butter Syrup. It is definitely better than your typical maple syrup. The sausage was really good too! Eggs & grits were ok but I couldn't finish them.Service was typical of any local cafe, no frills but fast.I can see why there seems to always be a line out the door!

Had eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast. Sausage was GREAT. Asked for hash browns well done crispy. Server put it on the ticket. Completely ignored by the kitchen.Wife's french toast was quite plain - just bread thrown on scrambled egg. No powdered sugar. Minimal effort. Bland.Waited a LONNNGGG time for our food.

Fabulous- great food and service in the heart of Starkville! We enjoyed our visit, make sure you check it out.

Me and my boyfriend came here for breakfast after we saw good reviews online. We ordered right at 11, and waited 45 minutes for our food. There was no checkup or anything, some people had been sat after us and got their food within 10 minutes and ordered a to go order. We didn't feel welcomed and on top of that, if you weren't an older couple that the employees knew, you wouldn't get served. The service was awful. We would've been better off at Mcdonald's, and that's embarrassing for a local cafe. Do better.

Best breakfast place in Starkville! Sometimes busy but they are quick to get you in! Just great all round!

I was really excited to try out this restaurant while visiting my cousin in Starkville but unfortunately I did not have the best experience. I will start with the positives: I ordered the waffle platter and my waffle was really light and fluffy and the duck butter syrup was to die for--I've truly never had anything like it. Our server was also very friendly and the cafe itself was cute. Unfortunately, I found two wiry black hairs in my hash browns, which was very off-putting. Our server was very apologetic and asked the kitchen to remake my plate of hash browns, scrambled eggs, and bacon and brought it out very quickly. The hash browns on the second plate (which I was admittedly hesitant to eat) were cold, rubbery, and not crispy at all and the scrambled eggs were runny. I ended up only eating the bacon and the waffle but even after explaining my experience to the cashier I was still charged full price for my meal, which certainly wasn't worth what I paid. I would not recommend this place.

Food was good but just average. Thought portions were small for price. Staff friendly though. When you spend $25 for breakfast for 2 and leave hungry it makes it a place that I won't go back to in the future. I even had water to drink. ?

Service was a little slow. But we really enjoyed the loaded hash browns and the refillable coffee! Made for a relaxed morning.

A Starkville establishment since 1945 I believe. Had a great breakfast in this place. Sat at the counter in a one seater. Had a half stack (2 large pancakes) and country ham. Also had a hot chocolate. The food was outstanding and could NOT finish the pancakes. The service was excellent. Had to give my name when I first got there and fifteen minutes later was seated. Had a great experience. The place was packed with Saturday morning families hanging out. It is like an ole timer cafe in a small town. People were all friendly and easy going. Highly recommend this place. They also have blue plate specials Monday-Friday and Sunday.

Disappointing. Charming downtown cafe should have GREAT food. It doesn't. This is my second time here and both visits have served up sad food. Hash browns came out cold. Actually cool to the touch. My (excellent!) server promptly took my plate back to fix it. The "fix" was to microwave the entire platter. So it was returned with hot soggy hash browns and rubbery scrambled eggs that had been nuked to death. Waffle was pale and soft. Just disappointing all the way around. Great staff, mediocre food at best.

We were stuck in back room. Atmosphere was poorly. Food was greasy and definitely not what I expected..

The food is amazing. I love the breakfast in particular. Service can be slow but they are super nice. I think the owner works the checkout and he is a delight! I always take my family here when they visit.

Every now and then a server has a bad day and it ruins the vibe, but the grits make up for it every time. You want diner food? This is the best diner food around.

Great service here! Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy, western omelet, and two egg breakfast. Cool spot, classic diner vibes.
