Travel for business. Rooms are what you expect from a courtyard. Construction seems to be behind them for the most part. The highlight of my trip was the bartender, Jason. Super nice guy. I asked him to make me his burbon specialty, he didnt have one, so... he made something new... he called it the Red Sea... man, it was good!!!!! Im going to request it tomorrow night. Ask for it and you won't be disappointed. What a great evening. Great conversation and great new coctail.

Pool and hot tub were dirty from construction debris otherwise it was a nice place.

My daughter and I came in from Texas. Mind you it was a 10 hour drive for us. By the time we arrive it was after seven that evening. We were tired and hungry. Never in a million years did I EVER expect dirty bedding, and I'm talking about the kind you can scrape with your fingernails. I wonder what else was there that I couldn't see. I'm so not happy. A long trip and now no rest because I can't stop thinking about it the dirt I CAN see. I contacted the front desk and she said she's sorry but she was the only one working and couldn't leave the desk. Yes I can get a comforter, but why was it dirty in the first place and visibly dirty at that.... Yuck🤮

Great accommodations. We were disappointed that it was under construction and many of the amenities were closed, but everyone was nice and friendly.

Would love to see this Hotel when it is not being renovated! Serves was awesome, location is great and views of the football stadium are pretty cool. Great access to campus and cotton district. I was able to walk from the hotel to campus safely with ease.

Conveniently located to MSU. Currently renovating, will be all new soon.

Under renovation but excellent rooms. Spacious and clean with large TV and Netflix.

New rooms are a huge improvement.

Not even close to Marriott standards.

Undergoing renovation. Was NOT noted on their website.

Hotel is all but shut down. Share hallways and elevators with construction crew. Work commenced at 8 AM. LOUD work! Bag breakfast was a joke. Front desk clerk was useless.

All this and charge usual rates. First horrible Marriott Hotel for me in 50 years of customer loyalty. No more

The only redeeming aspect of this hotel is the location. I’m in Starkville almost every month for work. The hotel was undergoing major renovations. I never would have booked a room there had I known that beforehand. (Nothing on their website or the Marriott app.) No available amenities, no signage at the entrance, they turned the water off with no notice, brown water coming out of the faucets, huge trash cans in the hallways, non functional AC. The only compensation they offered was a free cup of coffee. Do not recommend. The area has beautiful AirBnBs! Much better way to spend your money.

Great place for a business trip. They are doing some updating but they try to keep disruption to a minimum.

Lol beware.
I was looking forward to staying at the Courtyard Marriot. 3 rooms was booked in advance. My flight the night before had gotten diverted… restless and tired when I landed I just wanted to check in and settle in. The customer service staff Jahleel & Alexis the manager (hope I spelled their names right) gave us the worst experience. When we arrived, they had told us that they booked the room to someone else since we did not arrive on time. We paid for 4 nights, and did not get a phone call to inform us about any cancellation or email. They were trying to deny us a refund at first, and at the end gave us a partial that made no sense. Expedia, the third party app had confirmed that our booking was there and they do not have the cancellation policy. Alexis claimed to be on the phone with Expedia, and her supervisor but kept disregarding us, while she caters for MSU visitors/athletes making it clear that she did not want to help us. She was going to grab the supervisor to give us clarity and kept walking away from us. We were trying to figure out why this happened and if we can get a refund for like two hours.. We were calm the entire time, however she started shouting and acting aggressive. We simply asked to see the cancellation policy they claimed to have that was no where to be found on websites. We needed this to show our company, simple. However this is when she started ripping off a poster with information we did not ask for and shouting at us that she was told to not engage with us. After all, this experience felt as if we got discriminated and pushed away.

What kind of hotel is this that it’s own staff & managers cannot have sympathy for paying customers who had came from a diverted flight and decide to act aggressive?

If you’re visiting MSU, you can’t go wrong here. Gym is okay, food is meh. Walkable to old cotton district. Worth your time.
