I am starting my six months working at Ackerman as a contractor so this will be my first review in Mississippi. I will give them a 4.7. Their sweet potato cornbread was good, Since sweet potatoes I despise like I do Oysters and Black liquorice this is high praise. I took an order of Catfish Egg rolls for lunch tomorrow and tried one and it was outstanding. I had my usuaI Manhattan which was also very good. I had the Duck Burger it was not what I expected but it was very good. But the sauce was a tad too strong for my taste. The French Fries were very well seasoned. As far as the service it was completely outstanding. As in the Winter I rarely dress up and look like Captain Ahab and was hobbled by a rolled ankle, they treated me like I was King Charles. Finally for value it was exceptionally reasonable for this type of restaurant. It is certainly a place I would take my wife to when she visits.

Favorite date night place!! Perfect for a special occasion or just a nice brunch or dinner. I have a shellfish allergy with prevents me from some of the menu but they are more than accommodating. Our service is always wonderful as well. The food is always so good too!! Pictured here is the swordfish special they had available for Valentine's Day.

First time here and I rate it a 3/10. The whiskey sour was bitter. The jambalaya pasta was watery and sooooo salty. Our service visited us 3 times-once to take our order. Second time, to correct my drink for me (he never got me my replacement drink) and to bring our check. I give the catfish egg rolls a 10/10. Best part of the night

I had the hamburger steak blue plate special. With creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The hamburger was super and cream spinach was awesome. Great staff too.

Overall an underwhelming experience. The dining room is well decorated and tasteful. The server was pleasant and attentive. The food was ok. We expected more from Starkville's finer dining establishments. Presentation was a bit careless and we were missing sides that we described on the menu. A lackluster first, and likely last, visit.

This restaurant will not resend me my check that I work for and if they have to resend it they are making me pay for the check to be stopped and for the check to be sent to me this is how this restaurant treats there ex employees they don't want to pay them. Very sad
