When I attended grad school in Starkville, Rosey Baby was a cool place to get good food. Nothing has changed. Our bartender, Ava, was friendly and helpful. I ordered a bowl of shrimp gumbo. One of the best gumbos I’ve tasted! From a boy from Louisiana: Justin, you killed it!

Food has a good taste and I did receive enough food but their rosey fries are like kettle chips. My first time there and management came out to talk to me, which made me feel like they really cared about my opinion of the food. He explained the rosey chips to me. I really appreciated that.

So this is suprisingly one of the only places around Starkville that I didn't have a great experience with. I went with some friends for a birthday one time and we were going to get some drinks. They have a nice beer selection but their other drinks are okay. Their food on the other hand was horrible. I think it was the fries (chips) they had but they tasted burnt and nobody at our table could enjoy the food while drinking. We had to literally grab food after somewhere else because we couldn't eat it. Besides that though the staff are very nice and it's good service.

I am a food service professioal.I live on the gulf coast of Florida, and when we come to West Point we go to Rosey Baby to celebrate my wife's daughters birthday every April. It is our tradition of crawfish consuption, and creole food.Having lived in NOLa,and worked in the quarter my bar is pretty high for food quality, and in the past Rosey's impressed me,hence our tradition. However last year they ran out of crawfish, and lied to us about it.They served, and sold us appetizers, stalled us on our,and a half before admitting they were out of crawfish. So this year we called ahead. They assured us that they had crawfish so we gave them them benifit of the doubt, and went there. So an obviously untrained young lady starts by not writing down our order of 3 sweet t,and one half half t,and bringing 4 sweet t,she thens comes out with 2 lbs of crawfish that i ordered, however We all ordered 2lbs of crawfish ,but before we did we ordered mushrooms, alligator bites, and bloomin onion,Apparently no one trained this young college student that the appetizers come out first. The 2 lbs of crawfish I ordered I sent back to come out with the other 3 orders,Appetizers come out,and our bloomin onion is under cooked with raw flour still it so we send it back. After 5 minutes enjoying our mushrooms, and alligator our crawfish arrives, and one order is ice cold! The booth we were in was already too crowded for us and all our foid so we move to a lager booth.Soon as we get there our onion arrives still underdone;ie half cooked, but in spite of the small crawfish that were overcooked to the point of falling apart we ate them up.They took the onion off the bill.We ordered beignets in past years they were great in the past, but today they were satuerated in oil with very little powdered sugar. We asked them to take them off the bill. The owners did a table touch early some guy who corrected the sweet t with half n half, but failed to bus straw wrappers. After we go moved to the larger table a lady came by ,and seemed to emphasize with the onion problem, but never apologized, but did say they would take it off the bill.A good manager would have came to my table after the beignets fail, but nothing ..I would have discreetly spoken about these issues if they had so now as an object lesson I am going public!! The kitchen needs a manager to insure, and protect the integrity of the product. The servers must be trained by a training program .While having a town full of potential employees is convinient. The owners needs to bring in some veteren servers, and kitchen people. We will never be back to eat,and unless your in the college party crowd avoid this place too!!!!!!!

No some of the reviews were not that great and I found prices to high for my fixed income. If the reviews weren't so bad. That was a shame. The photos of food looked good though..so honestly it's price that really made up my mind

Honestly, there should be a “not applicable” option. I made a reservation to bring 4 out of town guests to dinner in early December. On December 24, I received a text for me to confirm the reservation, which I did confirm and got a reply of “thank you, we look forward to seeing you.”We showed up at our reservation date and time of December 26, at 7:30 to a closed restaurant- man was I embarrassed. I know now I should have called, but I trusted that the restaurant stayed up with their open table connection. I felt stupid for not knowing the restaurant was closed.

Visiting Starkville wanted to try something new, and I picked Rosey. The food was delicious. We ordered two appetizers, shrimp nachos and alligators, and the alligator was good first time trying it. Then we had shrimp gumbo and a blackened shrimp poboy. We even had dessert it was delicious ?. Our waitress was very helpful with drink and food recommendations. The only thing I wasn't really pleased with was that there was another waitress vaping with her customers a few tables down.

We had such a good experience in the back room with our bartender Ellie! We had a huge group and she handled us basically alone. She was so much fun and handled our craziness!! 10/10 recommend! Ask for Ellie!!!

We went to Rosey Baby for a late lunch and some drinks before the Kentucky game. No matter what I thought about my dining experience here, it was more then 10 better than the product State put on the field that night. The restaurant was pretty slow, so it was a surprise why it took more than 5 minutes for someone to take our drink orders and 10 minutes from then to get our drinks. They have a large selection of beers on tap at reasonable prices, so they have that going for them. After a while, our server took our order, and we had another drink while waiting for our food. There are TV's at each table so we could watch football while waiting...and we were able to watch a lot of football. A good hour after arriving, our food finally got to our table. My wife and daughter got the Chicken Platter with gumbo instead of Mac and cheese. It was basically a chicken tender plate. The chicken was a little over cooked, but they said it tasted fine. My daughter's boyfriend got the Cajun Quesadilla, he said it was fine. I got the Rosey Burger, and I was not overly enthusiastic about. One corner of the burger (it had a square patty) was missing, and I think it was a mostly forgettable burger. All the dishes came "Rosy Fries" which are basically fried potatoes cut like potato chips. Mine were soggy and cold. On the bright side, the fried pickles were good. I liked the atmosphere of the place, and I see how it would appeal to college students. However, I don't know if I'd go here to eat again. I would come here for a few beers before the game, and if State keeps playing the way they did last night, I'd need to come early to prepare and come after the game to forget.
