They say you can’t go home again. You can at the Starkville Cafe!

Great breakfast, lunch, & dinner.

Grits and coffee. The fuel of the gods.

The breakfast is satisfying. Lunch is perfect. Dinner is fuel to keep you going.

Omelettes are eggy, cheesy and packed with the meats!

Eggs cooked to order, crispy bacon and great service.

Try anything on the menu. The club sandwich is retro. Fries, tots or sweet fries. Country fried steak is great.

Good Biscuits and great house-made sausage.

They have an old man liars club table.
This is Starkville meets Mayberry.

We sat there for 20 mins before anyone waited on us. They waited on folks who came in after us first. Then our food took 30 mins to come out. All we ordered was waffle with their signature sauce. Two scrambled eggs bacon and toast . First time ever going there. No apologies from the staff, they did not care.

Came in with my laptop and was seated right up front without even being offered a booth, which sent a clear micro-message that I shouldnt stay too long. The omelet and the service mediocre.

The “have a blessed day, happy new year” as I was walking out felt like performative hospitality after the fact. Welcoming energy shouldn’t start at the exit.

Don't tell my mom but this food might be better than hers.

Very average experience. Food was okay, our server wasn't super helpful. Seemed like she wasn't happy serving us since we ordered only coffee first. Then once we ordered a platter, her responsiveness increased 😂

When we arrived at Starkville Cafe, we were seated at a table directly in front of the entrance. Since it was winter and the door was constantly opening, the cold air made it uncomfortable. We asked if we could move to a booth, and while we were technically given the option, the explanation came across as guilt-inducing, as if switching seats would create an issue because it meant changing servers.

I understand that seating and server assignments exist, but the way it was communicated made us feel pressured to stay where we were instead of choosing a more comfortable spot. Also, seating should be more evenly divided—most people prefer booths, and guests shouldn’t feel discouraged from choosing them. A more considerate and balanced approach to seating would greatly improve the experience.

We finally were able to have supper at the cafe tonight and everything was delicious! I had the special, fried catfish & shrimp and my wife had the fried shrimp plate. The food was fresh & hot, the prices are reasonable and the service was great. Although we have always loved the Starkville Cafe for breakfast, brunch and lunch, it’s also great to have the option for supper time! Thanks so much! ♥️

The staff were very friendly both times I visited. once with my girlfriend and once on my own. However, I wasn’t very impressed with the food on either visit. The restaurant has a lot of interesting vintage décor, but some items, like an old cash register covered in dust, made the place feel a bit neglected.

On the positive side, the service was great.

Classic diner breakfast and lunch. Food is good but I wouldn't call it outstanding. Just like homemade comfort food. Great atmosphere not many like this around anymore.

Went here for breakfast November 26th.The place was busy but there were a good amount of wait staff for the crowd. The positive is that the food was good. Both my wife and I got the 2 egg combo with a meat, hashbrowns, and a pancake. I ordered pecan and my wife blueberry. The blueberry pancakes had a severe lack of blueberries. My pecan waffle had a good amount of pecans. My issue is that all the food came out except for my pancake. I watched other tables get their pancakes and Waffles and other food. About 10 minutes later I believe the Manager asked if we needed anything g and we advised my pancake. After another 10 minutes finally received my pancake after we had both finished as much as we could eat of our meals and were full. I accept that mistakes are made and all i would ha e liked was ownership of an error and an apology for the mix-up/delay. Not once did we get an apology or anything removed or discounted from our bill. If you can't serve breakfast correctly, I ha enough faith you can do lunch or dinner better. I will not go back.

Food was delicious, but not hot, even on a super busy gameday morning. The duck butter and house made sausage are definitely worth it, but everything would’ve been fantastic had it been hot.

Saw the reviews and was very hopeful when we arrived. There was a 15 minute wait (~9am) which wasn’t bad. Got seated and our server was good for how busy they appeared. But the main reason for my low review is due to their overall bland and greasy food. The bacon was dripping and that is the first time I’ve ever had greasy eggs. I will not be returning, too expensive for the subpar food that was served.
