If you're a fan of authentic ingredients, quaint surroundings, & great service...this is your spot. But to be a little more specific, if you are a Reuben snob - get to The Older Brother!!

This is my de facto spot in Starkville going forward!

What a fantastic place! Very friendly, cozy place to grab a bite to eat. The level of food coming out of the kitchen far exceeds anything I've tried in the area. Very well deserved 5 stars!

I've eaten there 3 times in the past week, I think its become my favorite starkville spot. Even when super busy it's respectful and attentive. Would recommend to anyone. P.s. get the reuben 🤌

Dietary restrictions: Most of the food is made on demand rather than pre-made, so just request removal of items you can't eat and its perfect.

I went one time, food was ok, the interesting thing was that everybody looked that same and that freaked me out very bad.

The Older Brother is amazing. Excellent customer service, food, and atmosphere. No doubt the best sandwich I’ve had in Starkville. Kolten is also a phenomenal server.

This is my new favorite place! Tucked away just off the beaten path in the Cotton District - you will find an amazing bistro with food that is crafted for amazing flavor with a healthy flare. Drink selection is excellent. Love the "Dogs Manipulating Time" beer. It's a must if you like sours. They use NO seed oils! Tallow is their cooking oil, and their fries are a must! I got the burger and pomme frites - wow. Best burger in Starkville. No other fries even come close. Wife got the muffuletta, and New Orleans has met it's match! I look forward to working my way through the menu. Finally, a place to eat out and drink without vegetable/seed oils.

Dietary restrictions: Perfect place to get a great "real food" meal without any vegetable/seed oils being used.

Parking: You'll park along University Dr. There is No parking at the restaurant.

The Older Brother is everything you want in a true, high quality sandwich shop. For folks who have never traveled to somewhere with truly great sandwiches, you need to forget what you know about sandwiches. These are elevated to a higher level than you’re used to in Mississippi. Every single ingredient is carefully chosen to complement the rest of the sandwich. The menu is designed so that nothing on it lacks its own value.

I had the Reuben for my first try… one of the best I’ve ever had. And absolutely huge! Plenty of food for sure. They make their own pickles, their own sauerkraut, they even corn their own beef. Even the fries are special! I enjoyed chatting with the guys who made the menu and hearing their passion for truly good sandwiches, easy to tell how much care they’ve put into each sandwich. You should definitely try this place out.

I’ll be back and bringing friends with me.
