The Rueben was excellent,I highly recommend giving it a try. my wife got the Philly and it definitely has an excellent and unique spin on their recipe with the smoked beef flavor.the fries are seasoned to perfection and the sauce it comes with was very good. Super cool little shop. We will be back again for sure.

Positive: I was excited to hear that there is a place that incorporated a niche concept and that embodied originality. My first impression looking at the website was high quality: food, service, and atmosphere. I have lived out west in Denver and KC and there are many kinds of restaurants that fit a similar concept. Today, was my first time ordering from Older Brother. I ordered the Kale Salad ($8) and the side of Pomme Frites. The salad was delicious and had the perfect blend of vinaigrette. The portion size was around a 1/2 cup. The size of the salad vs the cost was not equal in value. The fries were perfectly seasoned and not greasy. I was pleased by the large portion and it seemed to be fair for the price. Overall, the food was a 5 out 5 stars.
Negative: The prices are steep for the area. I would recommend increasing portion size for salads. It was very disappointing what was paid vs what was given. Also, make sure that the website reflects the correct prices when placing a take out order. The prices and descriptions were different when ordered vs what was described on the website. If a customer is dissatisfied please make provision for something complimentary.
If I do return, it will only be a place for special occasions.

I tired this place for the first time the other evening and I was BLOWN AWAY. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the food was stellar, and the atmosphere was so nice and intimate! This will definitely be my new favorite spot!

My experience at The Older Brother was not great. Server was slow, and very forgetful. (I didn’t catch her name but she had long curly hair.) I ordered the wedge salad, when it was brought out to me I didn’t realize it came with blue cheese on the salad. In reality this is no big deal. When I asked the server if I could get something different to eat ( I had not touched the salad) she told me I would still have to pay for the salad that i’m not eating and my new meal. So I sat with the rest of my party for the duration of their meal without eating yet paying for food I didn’t want and AGAIN DID NOT EAT. I will not be returning to The Older Brother and I will be telling friends and family not to eat there either.

Probably the best restaurant in Starkville. I’ve dined here a couple of times and everything my party and I have ordered was outstanding and perfectly executed.
The gorganzola chips, caesar salad, mufuletta, burger, croque monsieur, and fries were all delicious. On our second visit we tried some riskier dishes that were just as successful: the bone marrow, lobster ravioli, and the pork chop. I was impressed that the pork chop wasn’t overcooked.. it was cooked through but still juicy.
The service is attentive and the ambience is good. I was impressed to see the service team collaborating and working well together. The music isn’t too loud and you can have a conversation without shouting. I’d recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for something elevated but still accessible

I honestly cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Every sandwich on the lunch menu is crazy good. Sophie’s choice my favorite might be the collard green melt. If you are going for dinner you have to get the pork chop! I went one night and loved it so much I went back to get it the next night. It is one of my lifetime top meals, and I say that with zero hyperbole.

Best burger in town. The fries and whatever that sauce that comes with them are fabulous. Must have a reservation for dinner. You may can find a seat at the bar. Definitely a hidden gem in Starkville.

Food was good but manager is very rude to their waitstaff. Won’t be coming back.

Every menu item will blow your little cotton socks off. It’s like Michelangelo or Leonardo DaVinci are back there making stuff with locally sourced products.
The service and atmosphere are outstanding. Do yourself a giant favor and try this place out.
