One steak was over cooked & the other was under cooked. Our entree was extremely slow to come out. Our server was very sweet and made a great effort. The atmosphere was nice. The food is overpriced for what you get.

I eaten here for years. I have never had a bad experience or bad food. The staff has always been amazing. The food has never missed. The current staff and chef are spot on. Always prepared to perfection. They make it look easy.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant! It’s a hidden gem at Lake Dixie Springs. We drive a hour to get the filet and Lollichops. Every meal we have had was perfection and the staff go above and beyond. Can’t go wrong finishing off the meal with the bread pudding or cheesecake.

We visited the Mallard this evening for our 24th anniversary. My husband made reservations earlier this week. We were told we would have a corner table and a free dessert since it was our anniversary that we were celebrating. We arrived a bit early for our reservation. When seated by the bar tender, we weren't given a corner table as promised. We were seated right next to another couple that were dining this evening. I have to say the seating accommodations are cramped at best in the dining room. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and dinner. The duck tenders were delicious. However, the rest of the meal was at best sub-par. I ordered the market fish (red snapper). My fish was spongy--something just wasn't right with it. I could not finish my meal due to the strange consistency of the fish. My husband ordered a steak with cognac Oscar sauce. When his food arrived, the cognac Oscar sauce was forgotten. His meal was promptly corrected. His steak was full of gristle and fat--definitely not worth the price listed for a ribeye. We were NOT offered the free dessert that we had been promised when we made the reservation. At that point in the meal, we were just done and ready to go. I have to say the experience was not what we had expected. I had heard good reviews regarding the Mallard from numerous co-workers. We were both sadly disappointed. I have to say we will not return to this establishment. There are numerous other establishments in the surrounding area that we will visit---never again at the Mallard.

The wait after ordering took forever and had to ask for missing items from meals. My steak and sauce were cool and my son’s ribeye was 50% fat. The atmosphere is nice but for the amount of money our party of 6 pains was like robbery.

Disappointing Experience Despite a Beautiful Venue

I recently attended a large gathering at Mallard, and while the venue itself is beautiful, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. We waited over 1.5 hours just to place our order and nearly another 2 hours to receive our food. When it finally arrived, the food was cold, and the steak was overly salty.

There was only one server handling our entire party, and unfortunately, service was lacking — no one checked in for drink refills, and only water and tea were offered unless you wanted alcohol. To make matters worse, they only accept credit or debit cards and charge a 4% processing fee, which we weren’t informed of until after the fact. This information should absolutely be stated clearly on their website and menu ahead of time.

It’s unfortunate because the setting has so much potential, but the service and overall hospitality fell far short of expectations.

Great service and awesome food and drinks. Bourbon hurricane was a delicious balance with a slightly citrus taste. Medium rare filet mignon was delicious as usual with mashed potatoes and the veggies were brussel sprouts/cherry tomatoes.

Since the day this place opened I have enjoyed the atmosphere food music and company of a wonderful staff. The burger is heaven. The steak is wonderful. The fish is excellent and the gumbo is to die for. The bread pudding is heaven and all the Italian dishes are up my alley. I always share the Queen of hearts salad with my dinner mates in the summer I get it and add shrimp. I am a lover of this place. Ted is wonderful

We recently moved to Mccomb and was introduced to the Mallards by some friends of ours! I’d forgotten how wonderful the burgers was! I only didn’t give 5 stars because the service wasn’t above average. We did have a couple different waiters , as I seen mentioned in other reviews, but no one was rude and the burger was amazing!! Glad I chose to get my own and not share with my husband this time 😜! Must try!

Horrible service my food was given to another table. The owner Ted was very racist and rude when trying to discuss my situation. I definitely wouldn’t advise any African Americans visit this restaurant

Very nice place but the food was just ok and the service was terrible. It took about an hour to get our food after ordering and when it finally came the orders were wrong. None of the food came out at the same time and had to ask several times for refills and condiments. This was my third time going but will not be going back.
