We read that Taters had great homemade cheeseburgers and they did not disappoint. There were a few tables occupied when we entered and we were promptly greeted and asked what we wanted to drink. We dithered a bit on what to order as the lunch special, red beans and rice, sounded good. But since we were here due to cheeseburgers it was cheeseburgers for us. Mine was the usual plain cheeseburger while the wife had specifics on how she wanted hers. I don't recall what they are...
My wife and I stopped in on our way home for New Orleans and were absolutely DELIGHTED with Tater's Cafe. Burgers are mixed daily and you can tell. Beef was well seasoned and cooked. The bacon is thick cut, and cooked to perfection. The shining star was the service. Our server was absolutely lovely. We will definitely make our way back in the future.
Tater's was a perfect little find on a road trip. The food is nostalgic home cooking you can tell us made with love. The staff was beyond lovely. I look forward to adding Summit on my road trip map and this spot for food!
