Wife and I wanted to do a date night so we looked around for a non chain restaurant. After some searching we found Terry Mercantile Steak Co. After getting seated we quickly fell in love with the place. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Will go again.

Had a reservation for dinner celebrating my in-laws 50th anniversary. We were all there on time. Tables were waiting. Nice decor. There was someone playing music that was pleasant. Took 10 minutes before anyone took our drink orders (and one appetizer). Took 20 minutes before drinks were brought. Another 10 minutes before orders were taken. No appetizer yet. After 20 more minutes, had to flag someone down for drink refills. That's 30 minutes after drinks were brought without anyone checking on our drinks. A few minutes later, salads are brought. Appetizer finally came after the salads. 30 minutes after the refills, our meals began filtering out. For those counting that's 1-1/2 hours to start getting meals. Took about 10 minutes for everyone to get their meal. Despite the wait, the appetizer, fried crab claws, was pretty good. The sweet and spicy sauce that they came with was tasty. That was the highlight of the meal for me. The salads were forgetable and notably inconsistent. I think I had four pieces of some bitter green. Some of us got croutons. Some of us had some cheese. My comeback sauce was tasty. The serving staff kept trying to pass off other orders of strip steaks as the ribeye I ordered. I did eventually get a ribeye, though it was cooked medium well rather than medium rare. Other than being overcooked it had good flavor. Had a little too much fat. Had it been cooked correctly I suspect it would have been delicious. The potatoe was dry and hard. First time in memory I didn't eat all of my potatoe. My wife's filet was cut in half so that it was very flat and then cooked well done. Again, seems as though it would have been quite tasty if it had been cooked appropriately. This place really needs to find someone who can cook steaks to order. You can't pass yourself off as a premium steakhouse and not be able to cook steaks. My daughter's seafood gumbo was barely edible. It had both undercooked and overcooked rice. There was some rubbery item that we finally decided must have been an oyster. I've never seen actual crab claws cooked into gumbo. You can't exactly spoon them into your mouth. My other daughter's mashed potatoes were so salty, no one in the family would eat them. Given my family's love of mashed potatoes that is a truly odd statement. My sister-in-law's seafood pasta seemed to only have shrimp and not any of the other seafood items. It continued to be difficult to get refills on drinks. One of the servers seemed intent on getting me some form of sweet tea. Overall, it was a pretty negative experience. The prices are quite high, which isn't necessarily a problem. However, if you are going to be charging premium prices, you need to be delivering a premiuim experience. The sad thing is, it looks like the potential is there. I wish them well, but I won't be back. A couple of personal gripes. I despise seeing additional charges for using a credit/debit card, particularly when your prices are such that most people aren't reasonably going to be paying cash. I also don't mind the default 18% gratuity for a large party. However, it bugs me when it is hidden behind a "custom charge" notation rather than being out in the open as is done at most places.

Very nice place to go hidden in Terry. We had a group of six so got a wide variety of food. Their comeback salad dressing is great. Redfish ponchatrain was super. Loved the sauce. Others had fillet and ribeye cooked just right.Very nice dining

Beyond impressed. From the pretty yet warm smile of the hostess Juliee as you walk in to the bartender and even manager. All which were politely inquisitive of how everything was. I will most definitely be a return customer.
