Been there twice now. Years apart only as we do not live in Tupelo and are traveling through from Birmingham to Memphis. We have some family there who introduced us to it years ago and have wanted to go again. Finally pay evening was the right time to call my family and have them join us for dinner as we were traveling through. There was no debate of where to go... CAPITAL CHINA!
There was certainly NO letdown or disappointment as the quality and tastes of the food was just as good (or even better) than what we remembered! They serve a large buffet with more than ample choices for any taste one could want.
The server kept our table clean of used dishes and our glasses full. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The amount of traffic, whether dining in or takeout, was impressive and was a testimony to the reputation they have for dependable good food. I am told they are a family restaurant and have been since the start many years ago. They're truly an amazing family as they produce a unique and special tasting assortment than excels from the norm.
We HIGHLY recommend that you go and enjoy it for yourself! I bet you go back. 😀

Surprisingly, small, cozy Chinese restaurant, but variety on buffet, the usual dishes, 2 soups, homemade eggrolls and dumplings. Carryout Reasonably priced, all you can pack in a Styrofoam container. One price, could easily feed two. Quick fix if you’re hungry

I have went here all my life and have never had a negative experience, the people there are always ready to greet you with a smile, and if you come there enough they will notice if you are not with your usual group, lol! The food itself is always amazing, and the Crab Rangoon's are the best in the area in my opinion. It always is a good day when you visit China Capital in Tupelo, MS!!

I usually get takeout from New China in Tupelo but they are closed for the month of July.
So I thought I would give China Capital a try as I had not been there in quite a long time. A good many years ago, I used to go there quite often for their buffet and the food was at minimum very good but sometimes excellent but from the food that I got tonight, the quality has went way down compared to back then.
Anyhow, I ordered my usual General Tso's chicken and lo mein noodles and steamed white rice.
The General Tso's chicken was not tender at all and very chewy and not seasoned spicy enough for my taste. The noodles were fair but not seasoned well in my opinion. And the rice was just bland & too dry, so thank God for soy sauce!
The meal cost me $24 and was probably not worth half that much and, after tonight, China Capital has lost my business due to the poor quality of the food that I ordered!
And I will put in a plug for New China on West Main in Tupelo and if you give them a try and compare them to other Chinese restaurants in the Tupelo area, then they may become your go to place for Chinese food as well!!

I just got into town, and wanted some good chinese food. I walk in and order before I seen they had a buffet. I told her that I want my food cook fresh. $26.00 dollars later, they just heated up some food and said it was fresh. The chicken was chewy and rice was old that was disappointing. I want go back anymore thats was mess up, should've went to panda 🐼 express 😒 I even took pictures they should be ashame to take my money like that.

Our son-in-law introduced us to China capital and we love it! The best Chinese buffet we have ever had. The food is always hot and fresh which is unusual for a buffet.
