Almost Perfect
We came to D’Cracked egg on a Friday around 9:45am for breakfast before a long day working an exhibit hall at a conference. The menu is near perfect. All the hits and no misses with reasonable prices.
The food was really good, flavorful, and high quality. I ordered D’big bird with three eggs, sausage, country ham, hash brown casserole, and a short stack. Eggs were a perfect over medium. The hash brown casserole was cheesy and savory. The meats were salty and full of flavor and the pancakes were really nice and surprisingly many places miss the mark but not here. My coworker got D’country which is biscuits and gravy, eggs, and hash brown casserole. You can also get cheese grits casserole too. Other than the gravy being cold it was also a great combo. I think the biscuits were plated first then had to wait on eggs and my meal to be cooked prior to service.
Where d’cracked egg fell flat was service. They were extremely kind and welcoming but they must have been still in the weeds from the breakfast rush because after we were served coffee it took many minutes to get our order taken and then another long wait for food. It was worth the wait and they acknowledged it had been slow. A less patient person might have left.
Give this place a try. I think today’s service was a fluke.

I’d been looking for a good breakfast spot in Tupelo and I found the perfect one! The Western Omelette was fire and the portions are HUGE. I was drifting into a food coma on my way out 😴 5/5 will be back many times!
My son and I went to have brunch and people walked pasted us a few times before acknowledging us to seat us. Then our waitress forgot my coffee. Then asked us if we needed anything after sitting there for 15 mins obviously not having ordered yet. Waited for more than 30 mins for food. The service was absolutely awful. We were not the only ones complaining either

The food was super expensive especially for what we got. The chicken and waffle: 2 small pressed and manufactured chicken strips, something you might expect to eat in a school cafeteria. The garden omelette had canned vegetables in it, the toast was soaked in grease. The plates were chipped all over. I have no clue how this place got so many good reviews. The service was good though, but that didn’t help much. We paid $34 for two breakfast plates and two coffees. We should have eaten at a fast food restaurant, the food would have been better.

It could have been an off day for them, but it took 50 minutes form order to table for our food. The chicken with the waffle was performed patties for $13.50! Biscuits seemed they were made days ago and were hard. Lots of dust and clutter behind what seemed to be a bar area. We literally watched ants crawl in and out of holes in the wall while we waited. All the stools wobbled. Even saw one couple move to a table with regular chairs since their stools were so bad. Looked run down and needs some TLC. Total for 3 breakfast meals was $48!!! Two of the three drinks were water. Not worth the price for sure. I think I'll go back to Brick and Spoon.
Parking: Not many parking spaces. About 6 or so.
