The chicken and waffles were FINE!! Best waffles I've ever had! My friend had the boudin balls and greens as a side and said they were both the best she's ever had. I tried 2 different flavors of mimosas, and they were also delicious. I'll definitely be back!! Yum!

Best Restaurant I’ve been to that actually taste like grandma cooking. The good is amazing. The atmosphere was excellent. The owner, waiters, host was all so warming to make you feel like family and special. So much to say about this place but everyone need to find out for themselves. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks Ethel Mae for the best meal ever.

I had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant last weekend, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I walked in, the impeccable service was evident. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the 10 oz ribeye steak with garlic butter and mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely divine. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with just the right amount of seasoning. The garlic butter added a delicious depth of flavor, while the creamy mashed potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. But that's not all. I also indulged in some mac and cheese, fried gizzards, and bread pudding, and each dish was just as delicious as the last. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, while the fried gizzards were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. And don't even get me started on the bread pudding – it was a true masterpiece. One of the things that impressed me most about this restaurant was how fairly it was priced. Despite the high quality of the food and service, I felt that the prices were very reasonable. Finally, I have to mention the atmosphere, music, and vibes of the restaurant. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with just the right amount of buzz and energy. The music was fantastic, adding to the overall experience, and the vibes were just right.Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. From the impeccable service to the delicious food and wonderful atmosphere, everything about this restaurant was simply top-notch.

This was my 2nd visit. The 1st visit was to celebrate my 40th last year and it was NOT a good experience. However, I gave it another try. The atmosphere was wonderful. I think the food is overpriced. I had chicken wings, shrimp Mac n cheese, greens, cornbread and 1 cocktail, My guest had steak, mash potatoes, greens, shrimp Mac n cheese and 1 cocktail. Our bill was $120 with a $20 gratuity. I have honestly had much better for less. It's glorified soul food at upscale prices. The greens weren't seasoned, the wings were huge, undercooked and not very tasty.. However, the shrimp Mac was delicious. I like this restaurant but it's something funky about how they charge. Also, I didn't get the earlybird 15% discount. This meal was worth $60 total at best and I paid $140 after fees and additional charges. I would only return if invited by someone but I wouldn't reserve here again. This is only my honest opinion The staff were friendly and service was great.

Food was good! In fact what I had was great! Salad bowl was too small but I poured it on my plate! Service as far as wait staff great! Food took along time but they cook as ordered! So that was worth the wait! The live DJ was soooo loud it was uncomfortable! We were fairly close to the front door and was cold and uncomfortable every time the door opened! I’d go back for the food but could hardly wait to leave due to the LOUD music and uncomfortable temperature! I’d like to say I’d go back but only if no live music! But we’ll see!

We stumbled upon Ethel Mae's after a long day of traveling in rainy weather. The staff was so friendly even though we were underdressed. They even welcomed my 2 year old daughter with open arms. The food was delicious! We had the High on the Hog popcorn (my favorite), Chicken and Waffles, and Collard Greens. We would love to revisit if we ever find ourselves in Tupelo again!

This is a good restaurant and the food we were served was delicious. Meat tender and well spiced, cheese cake yummy! Service was also exceptional.BUT, portions are small. This has mainly to do with the sides, not the meat. If I’m spending $25+ a plate, why is an additional side not included with the shrimp and grits? Or why only 1.5 cups of grits with the shrimp. ? Grits are inexpensive and so are collard greens or dirty rice or any of the other sides.Give a little more and happy, satisfied customers will come back. Leave customers hungry and they won’t be back again.FYI - we ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes ($33), pork ribeye w/same side ($23) two orders of shrimp and grits ($25 each), 2 hoecakes and 2 pieces of cheesecake with salted caramel topping.
