So, we’ve heard and read rave reviews about this restaurant. We thought why not celebrate Valentine’s Day here! We made reservations for lunch and were seated right away when we arrived. We ordered drinks. My husband ordered a certain brand of beer, but they were out. No biggie. He ordered a second brand of beer, waited, and found out they were out of that too. The waiter asked the bartender what they had and the hubby settled for that. It was good he said. We placed all our orders. I wanted the Korean tacos but they were out. So I decided to order fried catfish with 3 sides. After waiting awhile, the waiter comes back and tells us there’s only 2 orders of catfish left and they were out of mac n cheese. So I just went with 2 sides and the hubby decided to forgo his catfish dinner for the burger that was still available. We waited and waited. The waiter comes back and tells us they gave away our catfish to someone else! By this time we were hungry and very annoyed. I reluctantly wound up settling for the smothered pork loin. My mom didn’t get anything bc she didn’t like what was left. My husband planned this day for his special ladies and was upset that our mom couldn’t even have a meal here. We wound up ordering a catfish dinner to pick up otw home from Aunt B’s. Great catfish dinner btw. On a busy day like Valentines Day, the kitchen should have been prepared for an extra busy crowd. This was only lunch. They blamed it on the pre-Valentines Day crowd. The manager blamed it on the kitchen. Ultimately, the blame goes to the manager. As sweet, apologetic, and accommodating as she was, the blame does fall on her to make sure everything runs smoothly. The waiter was so sweet and we felt really bad for him, having to keep running back to us with bad news. At this point we took whatever lunch was served to go, as we no longer wanted to spend anymore time at the restaurant . The mood was spoiled. This was our first time here and for a special occasion. It was ruined. In the end, our check was discounted and we were given a $50 gift card so that we can return for hopefully a better experience. Unfortunately, my mom was so irritated that she said she never wants to return. The food we took home, for the most part, was good. My sweet potatoes were bland and not great, but the greens and smothered pork chop were good. My daughter’s Cuban sandwich was ok, but she said she had better in Miami. Fries were tasty. Hubby’s burger was good. Not sure if we’ll return anytime soon. Maybe after we get over this experience, we may give them a second chance to prove themselves deserving of all the five stars reviews we have heard about.

You will spend some money here but as they say you get what you pay for. As for us we will be back, we’ve eatin here a few times never disappoints. Great service Great food from a well know Mississippi Chef cooked right in front of you. If you are tired of poor service and food possibly heated up in a microwave give this place a try, you will be happy you did.

Promising American restaurant with a strong Southern influence and nice service, decor, and wine selection. A few menu items need refining, but the overall offering shows great potential.

Shrimp cocktail was chilled and meaty with a strong horseradish component in the sauce. Enjoyed the bites.

The flavor combinations on the charcuterie board were pleasant with three kinds of meats and cheeses along with the mustard, jam, nuts, and other items. The amount of meat and the presentation made the dish feel a bit sparse.

The gumbo is topped with crab and included hearty amounts of shrimp, crawfish, okra, and other goodies. Note that the gumbo is tasty, but non-traditional in terms of not using a lot of roux (the gumbo was closer to the consistency of soup) and the flavor of the gumbo was more acidic than normal.

The Cabernet and Pinot Noir offerings were a nice surprise. Enjoyed the selection. Our waitress was quick to swap out the glasses of wine and open new bottles. Recommend storing the wine in a fridge to help extend the life of the open bottles.

Our batch of raw oysters was not chilled / fresh. Recommend ordering the oysters grilled or Rockefeller style.

The service and ambiance suggest a mid-to-high price point, but for the restaurant to meet that level, consistency in dish quality and presentation (like the charcuterie and oysters) will be key.

We placed a pickup order for lunch and we were able to order on line prior to the restaurant opening! Our food was fresh and ready when we arrived at the restaurant to pick up our order! Myself and my colleagues ordered the BLT burger, Short Rib Dip sandwich, and a Cuban Grilled Cheese with extra sides of cheese grits, crispy Brussels, and fries that were seasoned to perfection! We had generous portions that did not disappoint!!To top it off we had the Banana Pudding Cake for desert which is a must have! We will definitely be back for more!! 💯 % Recommend !!

Had dinner at the bar. Was rather impressed. Gumbo was excellent! Had shrimp & grits for dinner which was phenomenal. Jumbo sized shrimp, grits great, bacon was cooked perfectly and the sauce was balanced.

We had our first lunch here with a party of six, service was very personable and professional with detail explanation of all the different choices. Most of us chose the meat and three which were all incredible. All the food was fresh and home-cooked like an upscale restaurant but very reasonable in price. Next time we’re in town we will be back. Would love to try dinner the next time. Thanks for having a unique restaurant compared to so many.

Absolutely loved my dinner here. Sat at the bar and service was speedy considering how much the bartenders were hustling making drinks. Had a great rendition of an old fashioned.

Several entrees looked good to me and made it hard to choose which turned out to be a good thing because my first choice was the duck but they were out. Ended up having the pork cheeks. The side of fava beans somehow stole the show.

Ordered a cab sauv and missed my opportunity to have the fava beans with a nice chianti.

Will definitely be back on my next trip to tupelo.
