I am writing to recommend Anchuca as a restaurant. This level of dining is almost unknown to most people. The surroundings are exquisite, and the food is terrific. The staff are very friendly and competent. Don't miss this experience.
Food and drinks: The food is exceptional as well as the dining experience.
Wow! First of all, I adore Sam and Anna Kate as people! They are first class in every way, down-to-earth, passionate and knowledgeable about Anchuca and its history, as well as their beloved Vicksburg!
I'm so honored to be a part of their Christmas celebration at Anchuca, which includes a beautiful dinner and wonderful concert! They outdo themselves truly! The menu features delicious appetizer choices, amazing entrees, and stunning desserts!
This year, I had a delicious, flavorful asparagus bisque, followed by a Shrimp & Grits with pimento cheese grits! Y'all, I'm telling you, some of the best grits I've eaten! I finished off with a warm, rich serving of peach cobbler, topped with pecans and vanilla ice cream! I had a taste of the bread pudding as well!
If you've never been to Anchuca, please go, especially during the holidays when the house is decorated magnificently! I truly with both Sam and Anna Kate the continued best!
Oh... and when you go, please get some of Anna Kate's delicious homemade macarons, cookies, or any other sweet treats she's featuring! Congratulations to you for that sweet success!
Love you both!

My visit to Anchuca Mansion was so nice !!
The mansion itself is absolutely beautiful, and you can really tell how much thought went into decorating it. They offer house tours for $10.00, which was well worth it!
The staff were so kind and friendly! I got to chat with the owners, Sam and Anna Kate, and they couldn’t have been more wonderful.
The food was delicious. The rolls came out piping hot, and they were so good. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was so amazing, an absolute treat! While I didn’t have a cocktail myself, their cocktail menu was very nice! Their wine list was also extensive!! Something for everyone.
I also got a sneak peek at some of the rooms, and they looked so charming. I would definitely make it a point to stay here next time I visit Vicksburg.
Overall a 10/10 experience!

Frequently journeying between Texas and Georgia, I'm always looking for safe, comfortable and service oriented accommodations. Imagine finding this treasure! This historic B&B embodies beauty, heritage, and refinement. Vicksburg, like all Southern cities, has its contradictions and paradoxes. But this place balances the history and redemption of so many of Mississippi's homes. On arrival, I was greeted with curtious and warm hellos. The restaurant has classic and unique selections. Pimento cheese grits for the win! Staying in the pet friendly carriage house, I was able to enjoy the restoration of a Southern treasure with modern conveniences. The bed was comfortable with luxurious linens. (One of the best nights of sleep I've had in a while) There is a pool in the back courtyard for the warm Mississippi weather. And don't forget to enjoy coffee and tea in the cozy library. The breakfast of fresh fruit, quiche , bacon and biscuits was accompanied by a telling of the home's unique past and preservation. The coffee with a touch of cinnamon was perfect. We were then given the opportunity to tour the place and soak in the grandeur of the architecture, rich rooms with gorgeous furniture, and see the stunning grounds. This will definitely be a place for many future stays. Located less than 10 minutes off of I-20, it's convenient, comfortable, safe and provides award winning dining. Try some of the unique custom flavored macaroons from the owner, art in itself. Thank you, Anchuca for a new favorite dwelling for this weary traveler and her fur babies. See you soon!

We recently stayed a couple of nights at Anchuca Mansion in Mississippi, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the owners and staff made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. Their hospitality was unmatched, and they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with charming decor and comfortable accommodations that made our stay truly relaxing. The highlight, however, was the food. Every meal was a culinary delight, showcasing a perfect blend of flavors and freshness that left us thoroughly impressed.
This has been a relaxing vacation and we owe it all to the wonderful people at Anchuca Mansion. We can't wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious getaway. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

We had a great stay. Rooms need a few repairs but nothing too major. Dinner was great at the restaurant also very pricey. Breakfast was delicious. We had trouble sleeping to sure to the AC making terrible noise all night.(room 6) We were in the carriage house room 6 & 8. The pool looked amazing also. Very nice grounds. I would recommend and stay again.

I cannot speak of the overnight service/staff but you receive poor service for the "tour" of the residence. At $10 per person you get a 10 minute video and access to 4 rooms on the main floor wherein you guide yourself with little context, unless you took notes in the video presentation. If you come during the Vicksburg passport season, be sure they stamp your booklet. After touring here we went to another home for a tour and they informed us of the passport and stamp system. However, the home is furnished beautifully.

A historic Southern oasis…with great food and service. Somehow they pulled off serving a busload of elderly tourists in the large dining area, while cooking us an exquisite dinner in the quiet part of the house. Great cocktails. Highly recommend. Only suggestion is regarding the music played during breakfast: ditch the intense violin rock covers for something more relaxing…like vintage jazz.

This hotel is an absolute gem. It's a beautiful historic building in a safe, quiet, genteel area, less than 10 minutes walk to centre. There's a nice pool that's relaxing to sit around and big enough to actually swim lengths, rather than just cool off.Our room (Old Quarters #2 - King Room) was on the first floor outside the main building. It was spacious, comfortable and very quiet. The bathroom was large and well equipped. Everything was spotless. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. The breakfast was also very nice, and included in the price. Room rates are extremely reasonable. Staff are friendly and professional.Highly recommended.Rooms: Large, well-equipped, comfortable and quiet.Safety: Very safe neighbourhood.

We absolutely loved it. Our rooms in the carriage house were so spacious and well-appointed. The breakfast was delicious and the house is practically a living museum. The owners are young, enthusiastic, and present onsite. Don't miss the macarons and other treats for sale, made by the owner!
