“Last summer I went on a date and ordered the same thing I ordered several times before that. I was disappointed to find that the thick cut pork chop was no longer. It was a thin cut pork chop and it tasted vacuum sealed. Before getting on here and leaving a review, I, instead called for the Chef/Owner. He promptly and politely came over and spoke to me. I asked him what was up with the cut of meat I was served; told him I always get the same dish and it was definitely different. He explained their new way of preparing the pork chop...I politely told him, Noooo Sir, please keep it the same as before! I also suggested to him how he could prepare his brussels, as they were very tough the way they prepared them. He took my advice, thanked me for my input and invited me back as he handed me a very generous gift card.Well fast forward.....We dined there for my sons 20th birthday and everything was devine, minus a few little details they could work on but, nothing worth fussing over.Chef isn't always in the kitchen, he stands at the window watching everyone/everything and making sure that quality control is being controlled. It's a wonderful dining experience...Again, things aren't perfect but nothing ever is. The one star reviews are by amateurs and/or Karens. Ive always had a great experience every time and Nick (our waiter) also made it worthwhile. He was great!Sincerely,A self taught Chef ?”
“The Anchuca Historic Mansion and Inn is as beautiful as it is interesting. The interior decor is lovely and the guest rooms are grand. This is a really nice place to stay and the restaurant is first class. The owners are very friendly as are the entire staff. Historically, Confederate President Jefferson Davis gave one of his last farewell addresses from the balcony while his brother Joseph lived here.Rooms: Rooms are large and comfortableNearby activities: Near to historic downtownSafety: Great area, very safeWalkability: Area and downtown easily walkableFood & drinks: Wonderful restaurant on site with full barNoteworthy details: A lovely and historic property with very friendly hosts”
“We were very impressed. A lot of the breweries in tourist towns are meh - this brewery had outstanding beer and eats. Decent whisky selection as well. We definitely would visit again.”
“Great food from an old old school place (as in I’m not sore the carpet had ever been replaced!). Such a cool find on our long drive that day. Would return here in a heart beat.”
“Holy Smoke is my families favorite bbq around Layton! The family portions are huge and the home made bbq sauces are incredible! They have a good child's menu and the inside of the restaurant is a lot of fun. My kids love the butler in the front.”
“I come multiple times a week for tea and as soon as I open the door I am always greeted with a good morning! The service is very fast and the employees are so nice. I always leave with a smile!”
“I came for lunch and immediately was greeted and waited on. The vibe in this cafe is great! It’s very welcoming and the food is fresh cooked, hot and made to order. My mom got the chicken and dumplings, and my Dad got the vegetable plate. We all cleaned our plates!! I got the BLT on wheat bread toasted and it was so tasty. They are generous with the bacon. The lettuce and tomato was fresh. I absolutely recommend having breakfast or lunch here. This was my first time but definitely not my last. I’d absolutely drive here again to eat. It has that safe haven feeling that home has. It’s really nice.”
“Tried their crawfish and shrimp today. absolutely loved it! First off thank you for devaining all of the shrimp! Made it easier to peel and eat. We will be back for more.”
“Last night was my first time dining here and I have to admit that I had a far better experience than I expected. My steak was cooked to perfection. I will most definitely be dining here again.”
“This is some of the best seafood I've ever had. The shrimp plate was so amazing it will knock your socks off. And if you get a crab bag save it fo4 later when it cools off it gets spicy and the butter they give you to dip in is ungodly good. This place is affordable and the food is so amazing.”
“Food is pretty good. It's generally hot and fresh. The restaurant could use a facelift. Very old and out dated. Not sure why owners aren't spending any money on updates for the Vicksburg restaurant.”
“Our first time here and I must say, I have no complaints. Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. My husband ordered the salmon and I had the filet, we shared and both dishes were wonderful! Our server was Kaylor Little, she was attentive and friendly.”
“Food was sparse but tasty. Big problem with waitress. She was on her phone and ignored the patrons. I had to tract her down to get drinks. She saw customers waiting for a waitress but literally ignored us.Vegetarian options: Very few.”
