“From the outside...I wouldn't call it memorable, the inside a bit worn, but the food was outstanding! Good size portion, huge selection of ingredients, and staff was courteous. Definitely worth a try.”

“I bought boiled shrimp and the gumbo. The food is very good. The gumbo (which I got without rice) was rich and delicious. The shrimp were cooked just right. There are other seafood selections that are only available in season (crawfish, crab legs). There are variety of side items to add to your order if you'd like. The staff is friendly and helpful. You have a choice to dine in or take out.”

“We stayed at a nearby hotel and walked to Sonny’s for dinner. The food was excellent. Everything we ordered was really good. We will definitely eat here again when/if we are in town. BUT, our waiter, Christy, made our evening. She was simply delightful. She was very personable, knew the menu well and made everyone feel at home. She talked to all the customers, not just hers. I can not express how important this is and how it can make or break an evening. We left the restaurant with smiles on our faces and owe that to Christy. So stop in and have a bite to eat and make sure Christy is your waiter!! Thanks Christy for a fabulous evening at Sonny’s! PS. The cole slaw was the best!”

“Visiting Clinton from B’ham area for a wedding. Found this restaurant by chance. I grew up on the gulf coast, so truly a seafood addict. Truly amazed by the food. The Cajun grilled redfish sandwich is actually a half po-boy and delicious. Fried catfish and shrimp were great. Kim, our waitress, Ethan and others whose names I didn’t catch were super. A must experience if in the area. Enjoy.”

“OMG, the Oxtails, Greens and Candy Yams are magnificent!!! Good Food, Good Clean Facility, Good Vibes, and Excellent Service!!!! My Mom is an exceptional cook, and she ate all of her food. She usually takes food home to add spices or finish cooking by not from A Taste Of Soul. My sisters and I were shocked. You got to go!!!!!!! I got the "Nashville" sub. It was horrible, dry, and looked NOTHING like the advertised picture. It does not have sauce, but only a light seasoning that in no way looks like real Nashville Chicken seasoning. If I didn't have to be to work I would have returned it to get my money back.”

The price is about average for a nutrition shop ($7) but the flavor I got really wasn’t the best. I got strawberry jolly ranch and I didn’t really like it as much a little too sour for my liking but overall I will be coming back and highly recommend this place”

I had one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. The burgers are also delicious. It is located in a great section of town with a lot of cool shops.”
