“We stopped here on the way back from NOLA. It did not disappoint. This was food like my Granny used to make. The ladies working were very nice. I would definitely stop here again. Come for the food, stay for the conversation. This is a true southern comfort food gathering place.“
“Looking for a home cooked meal/restaurant while passing through Vicksburg Mississippi and came across this gem. Almost missed it because restaurant sign next to road is only on one side, the side NOT facing me as I drove by, lol. No frill small hangout for the locals living around there, so don't expect curtains or any decorations on wall. Meal was served on a Styrofoam plate with plastic ware BUT THE FOOD was to die for. I had beef tips over rice and husband had chicken, each with 2 sides and a drink for $10 even. Both chicken and beef were so tender that they just melt in your mouth and were very delicious. Had to find out who chef was; she was a bubbly fine lady called Brenda and her help was William. Such warm friendly people who can chat up a storm with hearty laughs. Made us feel good while eating there and definitely feel like you are eating at your friends home. Will definitely go back if we ever pass by there again. Fun fact, they don't have a menu, you got 2 choices of what they are serving for the day ? but Brenda can certainly cook up some great Southern food.“
“Great restaurant in a beautiful older home. The service was amazing, there were smiles all across the restaurant. The food was great typical southern food with rotating specials available too. A big list of dessert cakes and pies to choose from, I couldn't pick just 1 and brought 4 home with me.“
“I heard the Wings out here were big, they did not disappoint. Huge wings, packed with flavor. The rub on them was delicious so was the sauce. Highly recommend the Wings delight if you are stopping by. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was well kept.“

“While passing through Vicksburg on a Monday we stopped in to eat as this place boasted a 4.8 rating. It is a very quaint old home with just the front room as the seating area. Everything looked tidy.We were greeted when we entered the door and directed to a table for three people. It was quickly noted that although the two servers greeted us, neither one at any time was ever seen smiling. They were pleasant enough but no smiles.An order was placed for a chicken salad sandwich, a cup of the soup of the day, a gyro and a roast beef with aus jus along with drinks. We received our order in a timely manner. Again, no smiles. The server came to check on us again but without a smile.Our food was just okay. It was not bad. We all three agreed we would go back again as it was better than fast food. But it did not match the reviews of excellence in actual taste. We have definitely had great but not here and not today.After sharing each other's meals we determined that the gyro was the best tasting of all three items. But it was not spectacular.Now these little biscuits that were supposed to be so delicious were a real let down. One person in my party is a biscuit expert and they were unimpressed and didn't even take a second biscuit. Usually they are stealing all the biscuits on the table from us without sharing. But not here. I only took one bite and I was done. We will pass on the biscuits altogether next time.We each took a turn at the one stall bathroom and agreed that it looked like it needed a deeper cleaning. There was trash including toilet paper on the floor.Now when it came time to stand in line and pay at the register, that lady was smiling as she took everyone's payments. But, again, she was the only one who smiled the whole time we were there. Very strange indeed.So four stars is all I care to afford across the board.We will try again on another pass through Vicksburg. Maybe today was an off today.“
