“Good food at a reasonable price. Had the Fried Green Tomatoes, Gumbo, Crawfish and a Cosmo. All very good. The service was fast and friendly. Tomatoes were delicious, as was the gumbo. Crawfish were plentiful and crunchy. All were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. A busy place with a good reputation.The only drawback is the noise level, which made conversation problematic. There were a couple of large groups (bigger than 4) that were handled without any strain or undue fuss.“

“Last summer I went on a date and ordered the same thing I ordered several times before that. I was disappointed to find that the thick cut pork chop was no longer. It was a thin cut pork chop and it tasted vacuum sealed.Before getting on here and leaving a review, I, instead called for the Chef/Owner. He promptly and politely came over and spoke to me. I asked him what was up with the cut of meat I was served; told him I always get the same dish and it was definitely different. He explained their new way of preparing the pork chop...I politely told him, Noooo Sir, please keep it the same as before! I also suggested to him how he could prepare his brussels, as they were very tough the way they prepared them. He took my advice, thanked me for my input and invited me back as he handed me a very generous gift card.Well fast forward.....We dined there for my sons 20th birthday and everything was devine, minus a few little details they could work on but, nothing worth fussing over.Chef isn't always in the kitchen, he stands at the window watching everyone/everything and making sure that quality control is being controlled. It's a wonderful dining experience...Again, things aren't perfect but nothing ever is. The one star reviews are by amateurs and/or Karens. “While passing through Vicksburg on a Monday we stopped in to eat as this place boasted a 4.8 rating. It is a very quaint old home with just the front room as the seating area. Everything looked tidy.We were greeted when we entered the door and directed to a table for three people. It was quickly noted that although the two servers greeted us, neither one at any time was ever seen smiling. They were pleasant enough but no smiles.An order was placed for a chicken salad sandwich, a cup of the soup of the day, a gyro and a roast beef with aus jus along with drinks. We received our order in a timely manner. Again, no smiles. The server came to check on us again but without a smile.Our food was just okay. It was not bad. We all three agreed we would go back again as it was better than fast food. But it did not match the reviews of excellence in actual taste. We have definitely had great but not here and not today.After sharing each other's meals we determined that the gyro was the best tasting of all three items. But it was not spectacular.Now these little biscuits that were supposed to be so delicious were a real let down. One person in my party is a biscuit expert and they were unimpressed and didn't even take a second biscuit. Usually they are stealing all the biscuits on the table from us without sharing. But not here. I only took one bite and I was done. We will pass on the biscuits altogether next time.We each took a turn at the one stall bathroom and agreed that it looked like it needed a deeper cleaning. There was trash including toilet paper on the floor.Now when it came time to stand in line and pay at the register, that lady was smiling as she took everyone's payments. But, again, she was the only one who smiled the whole time we were there. Very strange indeed.So four stars is all I care to afford across the board.We will try again on another pass through Vicksburg. Maybe today was an off today.“

“What a find! Looking for somewhere to have a late lunch in Vicksburg, most places close at 2 PM. Walnut Hills is exceptional, the service was top notch and the food was delicious. My wife had the crab cake salad and I had the shrimp Po Boy. Both were very good, the onion rings with the Po Boy were the best I have ever had. Highly recommend trying Walnut Hills when in the area.“

“This is probably the best food I've eaten out in a long while, the whole family was stuffed by the time we left. Between the 5 of us we sampled quite a bit and we're not disappointed. The shrimp and catfish po boys were fantastic as well as the crawfish etoufee and gumbo. Sweet potato fries and onion rings were on point. And to top it all off, the white chocolate bread pudding was to die for. Both servers were helpful, pleasant and on top of their service. I can't recommend this place enough!“

“As I write this I am here for my second steak for my second night while visiting from Boise, ID. If you don’t go to Beechwood while you are in Vicksburg, MS you are missing out on the best meal you while have in this part of the South. Hands down. “We moved to Vicksburg 2 years ago and finally tried Billy’s a couple of weekends ago ! Definitely my top spot !! Hidden Gem for some of the best Italian Food, Sweetest and Fast Service Staff and Wonderful and Cozy Atmosphere !! Easy parking as well !! “So, my 9yr old and I were walking around in downtown Vicksburg, MS and he, of course, was hungry as usual. With the name of the restaurant being Cocktails 101, I was hesitant to take my 9 yr old in there, but they were having a special on wings.. "Wednesday wings;" we decided to give it a try. There was only one customer at the bar when we entered and I didn't know if it was because of the quality of the food and service or because it was a Wednesday evening... So, right off, I noticed the items on the menu were a bit pricey for my tastes! But, we were here and we had sat down so we were at the point of no return!! The food is pretty good. My son said, " Mom you ought to go into the restaurant business because this tastes exactly like your food!" I don't know about you, but if I'm going to pay an arm and a leg for a meal, I want it to taste better than the meals I normally cook! So, I thought some items on the menu were a bit overpriced, but the food was good. The service was great because we were the only people eating in the restaurant. I'm not sure how you can mess that up. Of course we got all the attention of our server, and that was nice. The atmosphere was really laid-back and a few locals drifted in and sat at the bar. It was very quaint and clean. It ended up being a really nice time and my son decided that we would come back to Cocktails 101 at least once a month so we could enjoy a nice meal together in a fun, upscale environment.Kid-friendliness: Despite the name of the place, it was quite kid friendly. There's plenty on the menu for my son to enjoy.Parking: We parked a block away and enjoyed the walk!“

“Driving through Vicksburg and stopped at Bumbers. Drive-in style restaurant was very reasonably priced and good food. Staff was friendly as well and came to check on is multiple times to make sure we were OK. Worth a stop!Kid-friendliness: Kids meals were well priced and our kids liked the food.“

“My second visit to this establishment, and it's just as good the second time around! If your party has mixed budget needs, the smaller dishes and specialty sushi roll entrees can be as inexpensive as 10 dollars with larger dinners ranging up in the 20's to 30's. The portion sizes are well worth whatever price you pay. Everyone at my table needed a takeout box! The furnishings are simple yet elegant, and the semi-secluded room where the booth tables are is a cozy space for an evening with friends.“
