I can't tell you much about the place, showed up to grab lunch while passing through and the place was closed during what should have been regular business hours. Sat June 7th at 1pm. Went uo the road to Toneys Seafood market and had lunch there instead.
We had planned to eat at Gumbo Pot. Not being from the area, we didn’t know what to do, on the door it said go to next door. Well the next-door was a Japanese restaurant that we ate at and really enjoyed it so I stopped back by to let gumbo pot know they missed two sales because of the note on their door so I have no idea what their food was like. I told them they needed to change the note on their door to say use this door instead of sending us next-door.
Just closed
Love this place. I hate it is going away.

Sticky Floors and Salty Disappointment
While passing through Vicksburg, my family decided to stop at this restaurant based on the glowing reviews—but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the hype.
The first red flag appeared as soon as we stepped inside: the floors were sticky, setting a less-than-appetizing tone. Hoping the food would make up for the atmosphere, we placed our orders with optimism.
My husband and I both ordered the Rosey Special Gumbo. While the flavor of the broth was decent, the rice was noticeably undercooked, which affected the overall enjoyment of the dish. We also tried the boudin balls, only to find that they were nearly raw in the middle—something that shouldn’t happen with fried items. The most disappointing dish, however, was my son’s crawfish étouffée, which was overwhelmingly salty to the point of being inedible.
Despite the positive reviews, our visit fell short of expectations. We left disappointed and won’t be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone else.
I'm so glad we found this place! Exceptionally friendly waitress and absolutely outstanding gumbo - seafood and chicken.
3 lb of crawfish with a delicious buttery cajun-ey spice, for only $18-19! This is a highlight for a seafood eater like me. With plenty of water to drink (gigantic cups of water included), sufficient napkins, and no hurry to finish the meal quickly, these crawfish with potato and corn were a treat. The only reason I'm giving the food rating a 4 was that the order was also supposed to come with andouille sausage but they were out; however, the remaining food in the order was enough for a full and tasty meal anyway. This place has a typical family restaurant or diner like feel.
Very nice staff. Being from Michigan we had never had crawfish so they just gave us a few to try plus our sweet server demonstrated how to open and eat it! The food was very good! Highly recommended!

My daughter and I just left. she had the original burger and I had the ribeye and shrimp. It was a good meal and great service. Ne Ne was our server.
I had the sausage and seafood gumbo. It was good but only had one small piece of andouille in it.
