Had my doubts that the double bacon cheeseburger with rotel tots was worth the $20 I spent on it but it is unexpectedly fancy. The onions on the burger are caramelized in a funny way so that they are mostly sweet but still got bite. The tater tots were fancy too. there was very obvious attention paid to how everything was seasoned and how everything looked. The chives sprinkled on top dress everything up nicely. There's some real talented actual chefs running food trucks around Vicksburg.
the fish, shrimp and fries that I got were so good and from really good people.
Omgoodness, the BEST ribs I have had in a VERY long time!! We will be getting again!!! Thank you for being so accommodating to us!!!

New owners changed all the original recipes that made this place the BBQ for hundreds of miles. There is no passion for BBQ here anymore just another over-priced prepackaged chain menu. It’s a shame the old owners were pushed out for trying to keep it authentic.
The reviews are misleading. This restaurant is now under new ownership and the food and service are no where near as good as it was prior to moving. Don't waste your time.
I've had BBQ from all over the country and really felt like I had a favorite than won the prize... until I came to Holy Smokes! By far, the best brisket, the best mac n' cheese, and the best Brunswick Stew. I usually gauge a BBQ restaurant by the way they make their Brunswick Stew and present their BBQ. There was not one thing missing from this place's competition quality meal. The brisket was delicious without sauce but they had four sauces to choose from that accented the cooking of the meat perfectly. The mac 'n cheese was very cheesy and could have only been made better by smoking it. The Brunswick Stew was full of flavor but not so much that it over-powered the different ingredients. The sweet potato fries that my wife got were cooked perfectly and seasoned with cinnamon-sugar to the perfect amount so that you still tasted the sweet potato. Personally, the decor and quaintness of being downtown topped it off. The service was great even with the COVID practices in place. The food was so good, I felt like I needed to find the cook and give them a hug.
Have gone past the eatery a few times, so we decided to stop tonight. Had the smoked wings , sausage and the ribs. We liked the sides that they had and the multiple selection of sauces that are on the table. Definitely worth another visit.
Auntie Ellen Jean’s food is Great 👍🏽 today, I truly enjoyed all of it !!!
Jean’s ribs are dry rub perfection, a 10 out of 10 in flavor and cooking technique. Her hospitality is gracious, customer service above and beyond, and food undeniably delicious.

This is the hole in the wall we were looking for! Ribs, pulled pork, fried okra and collard greens were all delicious. They really know what they’re doing! Felt like being at Grandmas house, in a good way :)
Had our first visit last night and had a wonderful dinner. Excellent food and service. The owner was going table by table checking on everyone.
This is how good this place is: I ordered a pork sandwich with fried okra, pork was so good (right off the bone and moist!!) I ordered a half rack. So impressed I shook the owner Rogers hand.
Great and friendly customer service! Ribs were very tender, baked , beans were delicious, collard greens are freshly cooked, the fried OKRA was my favorite!
