The only drawback was they don’t start cooking steaks until 5:o:clock! Fried green tomatoes were fabulous! We also ordered hamburger steak, fried okra and a salad! They were very good. Large portions. Waitress was friendly and joked with us! Fabulous place!
Unprepossessing cafe beside the RR tracks. Came for a weekday lunch, and this place felt like home. Our waitress was a nice young lady, and good at her job. \n\nA produce delivery came through the front door just before noon, and went straight to the kitchen. The Whistle Stop Cafe is almost in the center of Wiggins; parking is limited around the cafe but there is more parking across the street. The food is good and portions are generous. Staff is helpful and friendly. Take-out orders are common as are to-go boxes if you have leftovers. I recommend any of the hamburger or salad selections which are very good. Spend time enjoying a meal and don't rush away. It is time well spent.
