Los Agaves Mexican Restaurant

If I could give a rating of "zero", I would. I was very disappointed and shocked at the behavior of the OWNER. I ordered a chicken and steak Happy Plate. When it came to the table, the food looked as if it was sitting in milk, which was supposed to be cheese sauce. I called the waitress to the table, and she got the owner. He said that was the way the cheese sauce was, and everybody liked it. He proceeded to say, "If you don't have the money to pay for it, I understand". He told me I could get a to-go box and take it with me, but he could not give away food. I told him I wasn't paying for food I was not satisified with. He then responded, "The food is good, very very good. Nobody else is complaining but you." I told him the food was not good to me. He said, "That's your problem." He told me I was paying for the food and the drink and walked off. I told the waitress I was ready for my ticket and needed to know if I should wait for the police or how to proceed because I was not paying for food I was not satisfied with. She went to the front and came back with the ticket. The food was not on the ticket. Needless to say, I will never set foot in this restaurant again.

I don't what everyone else is getting but we stopped here because we were traveling through and everything overall was terrible. None of us could finish our food and maybe the staff was new but they didn't seem to know what was going on either. I for sure wouldn't be back

Use to frequent about twice a month. When service went down they added a mandatory tip and I haven't went back.

This place practice unsafe sanitary procedures do not eat here!!!!

While eating at Los Agaves tonight with my son snd his wife we witnessed a troubling event . Myself snd my son had finished eating when suddenly a young woman came running to try snd get out the door — before she could make it out she threw up all on the inside of the door then she stepped outside and finished throwing up . We expected a rush of activity from the staff to clean up —- nothing . A full 10 minutes went by snd no staff person made any attempts to clean . People were coming in , going out touching the door where the vomit was not realizing what they were touching . I went to the desk and complained that no wait staff had made any attempt to clean it up . Nothing . I asked for the manager — after a wait time a person came to the table snd said she was the manager for the night . She had called the manager and he had refused to come . I complained about the vomit on the door snd that no staff had made any effort to clean it up and customers coming and going were touching it . She quickly informed me that she did not make enough to clean up vomit even though customers were coming in contact with the vomit without their knowledge . I told her “ it is the responsibility of the staff to clean up vomit to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the establishment. “ per guidelines there are rules snd protocol to address these types of issue snd the establishment should have a Bodily fluid clean up kit . I also told her I work for the Health Department and for her to tell the real manager this will be reported . I won’t be back to eat there . The staff do not care if you are served food in a clean safe environment-/ that was showed tonight to me by their actions- or lack of actionThis was posted on fb and I copied and pasted .

Great service and delicious meal. T-bone, rice & beans and guacamole! Awesome. In addition of Margherita on the rocks.

If your from here or not, it is almost imperative that you stop here and try this delicious Mexican food. From Victor giving you a warm welcome greeting and to his staff being very informative about the menu and there southern hospitality, The restaurant is very clean and inviting. But the most important part is how delicious their food is. Now I don't eat pork so I was informed what I could and shouldn't order which made me feel like the staff cared. As I watched people enter and leave (as I patiently waited for my take out order) you could tell that the owner took pride in knowing this community. Did i mention this this was my second night in a row having dinner here ?. Thank you guys for making this Muslim woman feel welcome and serving excellent food with Superior service ? I give this restaurant 10 stars ?

We were traveling and needed food badly. Although the building itself and the furnishings have definitely seen better days, we had great service and the food was delicious. We each had burritos, one chicken and one beef. The addition of the "supreme" toppings, Mexican rice, and refried beans made a great meal. We didn't have anything to drink but the margaritas were served in huge glasses and looked really tempting. Don't overlook this hidden gem in Yazoo City.

The food was phenomenal. I often eat at Mexican restaurants and this one ranked at the top. The salsa was fantastic and really enjoyed the mole sauce and the green chili and the enchiladas and the margaritas and... well all was great. Good service too!
