Today (Friday) was spaghetti, choice of sides, a roll and banana pudding.

The spaghetti is good. Meaty and savory sauce and actual spaghetti noodles.

Lima beans are good.

The banana pudding is very good.

We tried that mound street sandwich on a sourdough roll. It had brisket, ham, bacon, lettuce and tomato. The bun was lightly toasted and the fixings were fresh. It came dressed with mayo.

The fries were crispy, golden goodness. Similar to Dairy Queen fries, if you are familiar with that.

They have a tangy, homemade comeback sauce.

The restaurant is clean and has a great vibe. Really neat location on Main Street in Yazoo City. Lots of shops and things to see in walking distance.”

“As I was driving downtown, looking for a place to work on my laptop, I saw this corner Cafe that looked so inviting. I am so glad I stopped in. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles and southern hospitality. The dining room was immaculately clean. There was a delicious scent in the air. Music was soft and there was some really cool Delta blues themed artwork on the walls. I parked at a table with my computer and wasn't very hungry so l just got a dessert and some coffee. I tried the butter pecan cheesecake, which was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten in my life. I asked the lady working if it was ready-made or made in-house and she said she made it from scratch, so I definitely had to get a few to take with me back to family. I tried some of the chicken salad that was homemade and it was absolutely scrumptious. I cannot wait to go back and try some of the sandwiches. I was delighted and impressed with this quaint little café. Also, there was a beautiful memorial table dedicated to the restaurant namesake and mother of the proprietor. It was very endearing and representative of the heart that is put into the food she makes. I truly felt like I was being welcomed home by family. I highly recommend Mama Ellen's. Do your taste buds a favor and stop in for lunch and for heaven sake please try that butter pecan cheesecake!!!”

“We were visiting and looking for a donut shop in Yazoo City. If I’m being honest, I wasn’t certain they were still in business from the looks of the outside. Nonetheless, food was just what we were looking for! They had a wide variety of donuts, croissant sandwiches, kolaches, boudin, and more! When we are in the area again, we will return!”

“We were just passing through and decided to try something different than our usual go-to. SO GLAD WE DID! The food was good, the place was clean and tidy (even the bathrooms), and it was priced about what we normally pay. I never post reviews online but the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE must be recognized. If I could give 10 stars, I would! My husband and I got the double bacon cheeseburger meal and the kids each got a junior cheeseburger meal. When we sat down to eat, one of the burgers didn’t have cheese. When I took it back, they smiled and without question, offered to cook me a new one. I stood there to wait on the replacement when the manager gladly offered to bring it to our table (he also offered for me keep the other one). Within a few minutes, he delivered a hot, fresh burger to our table along and brought us a complimentary side of fries for our “trouble”! The staff were all very friendly! They asked how our day was going and they thanked us for stopping by. I think our total was around $35, which was about average for our family. Next time we’re passing through town, there’s zero question where we will stop to eat!”

I wouldn't order that again, but I would 100% get the wings! Also, the Kool-Aid-type lemonade may give you diabetes, but it's so good!”
