Block 3 Kitchen & Bar offers a mix of excellent entrees like trout, chicken, and risotto, along with delicious game sausages and a fantastic charcuterie appetizer. The strip steak was slightly overcooked, but the sirloin bison with blue cheese crust was perfect and tender. The Caesar salad was disappointing, but the chocolate torte was out of this world. The decor is a charming blend of rustic and modern with a great fireplace. The service is attentive and fantastic, with knowledgeable staff like bartender Rondo, who takes good care of guests. There is an extensive wine and cocktail menu, though the high cost of soda refills is unreasonable. Locally sourced meat, except for the red deer, adds to the quality. Many guests are pleasantly surprised, as it’s far from an average hotel restaurant and one of the best places in Big Sky.
