We went to Headwaters Grille on Jan 8th before we went snow biking. My wife and I asked for pulled chicken and ended up getting Caribbean chicken that was gross. My daughter ordered the smoked chicken Caeser salad. She ate a few bites and threw the salad away because the salad tasted awful. The restaurant is convenient at Madison Village and the views of the ski area are pretty but the food is lacking. I spoke to the manager about the food. He did offer a refund but I told him the situation wasn't about the money.

Cozy spot for lunch with a more local vibe! Good baked potatoes ….. loaded with several tasty options!

Cold hot dog, cold potato with cold toppings. Horrible lunch stop. No coffee. Over 30$ to share a bag of cheetos and sip sodas.

Used to be an excellent place for BBQ but has gone downhill this year. They used to substitute corn bread and potato salad, now try to charge. They say they have sweet and tangy bbq sauce but they keep pointing you somewhere else in the building before admitting they don’t. Also they only have sandwiches, no longer a BBQ plate, which is contrary to the menu they have there.

This location is incorrect. Headwaters Grille is at the Big Sky Madison Base. This pin is Moonlight Lodge, a members only club.

Perfect food. Great staff. Phenomenal service. If you're lucky you might even meet some of the legendary Madison Base ski instructors.

Overpriced, average-at-best, cafeteria food (dry mac & cheese) and disorganized, lackluster service. The space is poorly laid out, bathrooms not well-kept. They are not allowing any usage of the shelves at present.

There must be new management this year, theyre doing a great job! Last year i left the "really really bad" 1 star review. But this year everything is different. The staff is friendly and helpful, the building is clean everyday, and the food is fresh and delicious! A much better option than the main base area in my opinion.

Horrible customer service, not enough room, overpriced cold stale sysco food. Aloof/borderline-rude staff. Dont go unless you just have to use the bathroom. And even then bring your own tissue and cleaning supplies because the bathroom is filthy, and has no toilet paper.

The headwaters grill used to be the best place on the mountain to eat. This year its the worst, not sure if management changed or what? The sign says they open at 8:00am but the doors are very rarely unlocked by then, usually 815-830. If you get there first thing in the morning, the tables are still dirty from the day before, the trash cans are all overflowing, the tissue in the bathrooms is empty, and sometimes coffee isnt even on until after 9. This whole time 3-4 employees will be standing at the bar staring at their phones in lieu of cleaning up from the day before. The new menu is horrible. I purchased a "breakfast burrito" that consisted of CANNED BAKED BEANS (the brown sugar kind), scrambled eggs, raw spinach, and huge chunks of raw tomato. I ate one bite before I threw it away. The resort counts on the fact that people have to eat here because there is no competition. Just pack a lunch. Bring back last years program!! Its just sloppy over there now. Seems to be no management.

We skied one day to the moonlight side of the big sky resort. At lunchtime we tried Headwater Grill. It was a desaster. The large tent like room was cold, the offered meals had been cold and totally non eatable. The pulled pork was a waste of any money. Even the baked potatoes had been cold and non eatable. I have never eaten worse and I have been in a lot of places in the world where the reputation was questionable. Just eat at other places in the resort or the mountain village even as there are not really good places to find. In general, better places for food you find in the Meadow Village and Gallatin Gateway.

A bit overcrowded, hard to find seats at lunch but the food was good.
