Our smoked trout appetizer was delicious. The roasted salad was very flavorful and fresh. We had local Montana beef and the night special Branzino for our main course both were amazing. The cast iron baked cookie with caramel and ice cream was heavenly. Ryan our server did an excellent job recommending wines to complement our dinners. The restaurant and setting was absolutely beautiful.

I travel for work and this is my favorite restaurant in the country. I ate here multiple times during “Cowgirl Up” week on the ranch.

Breakfast - the Huckleberry pancakes were absolutely incredible, the bacon is crispy, and the eggs are cooked to perfection. It’s also not your average oatmeal.

Lunch - the bison chorizo queso was out of this world, the salads are phenomenal, the smash burgers are juicy and delightful, and their soups are excellent. I was shocked at how much I loved the butternut squash and crab soup.

Dinner - I don’t even know where to begin…best filet I’ve ever had, the elk and bison are both delicious, the mushroom appetizer was incredible, the s’mores baked Alaska was fantastic. The mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables were also standouts. I’m a sourdough baker at home and I enjoyed their bread as well.

Cocktails - I particularly loved the Lone Mountain as it’s a great take on the Manhattan. I formerly worked in the whiskey business in Nashville and they really nailed this drink. The Bramble is good as well if you’re looking for something sweeter.

Atmosphere - saloon has a Yellowstone tv show vibe and the whole place feels very authentic Montana. They have fireplaces inside and outside and space heaters outdoors. I loved sitting by the fire and outside. They’ll even bring you a blanket which is so cozy outside on the benches. We saw wildlife from our outdoor seats.

Team - their service standard is high. It’s not stuffy at all and we enjoyed the personalities of our wait staff. The GM, Wes, is incredibly kind and has great recommendations both on the menu and for the ranch and area. Shannon and Hannah were wonderful in the mornings and afternoons - they are so friendly and will accommodate your every need. Joel is an evening waiter with a great personality - he’s very attentive and excellent at describing the menu. He made us laugh a lot and we enjoyed him so much we tried to get him to join us.

Dietary Restrictions - I’m a holistic nutrition educator and I was blown away with the options. They had something for everyone, whether you have a gluten or dairy allergy or if you’re looking for a well-rounded, macro-balanced meal.

We just celebrated our anniversary at Horn and Cattle and cannot have had a better experience! First, the service was impeccable. They started us off with complimentary cava for a celebratory toast right away and gave great and honest recommendations on the best dishes after I asked. Next, when there was a slight delay on our filet, the chef personally came out to apologize, explained (he didn’t think the filet was cooked perfectly the first time ) and then offered a complimentary app while we waited. Finally, when the entrees came out , they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband and I both agreed it was our best meal during our week-long stay in Montana and the quality of the food rivaled our favorite restaurants in Boston. Definitely go if you get a chance and give it a try! We highly recommend the compressed summer squash and watermelon salad for apps, the braised bison short ribs and the beef filet.

This place was amazing!!! We had lunch there twice and breakfast once. The staffs there are so nice and friendly and funny. We had an amazing time everytime we went there. The steak was to die for. Everything else we ordered was so delicious. We also had a ride around the place with the small cabins and saw the horses. Not to mention the view. This place has everything to make you feel great along with the foods, drinks and atmosphere!

Our server, Pierce, was STELLAR. So fun to talk to, went out of his way to make our meal and experience outstanding. My boyfriend asked for cocktail sauce for his shrimp - the chef “whipped some up” - so nice!!!!! And it was delicious. Everything was great and we really enjoyed our late birthday dinner. The crème brûlée was divine! We also appreciated the “wine guy” who immediately knew of a good Pinot Noir - and his choice was spot on! Really fun overall, great food, top tier staff.

I was taken here for a work meeting 4 years ago and my wife got so sick of me talking it up that she booked our family vacation to go skiing at big sky this year just so we could get me a Buffalo short rib. I am so excited and hope you guys live up to my memories come this January.

I visited Montana for the first time in June and had dinner at Horn & Cantle. This quickly became our favorite restaurant of the trip. I consider myself a food snob, coming all the way from Boston. Not only was the food exceptional, but the ambiance made it a top notch dining experience. The chef even came out to chat with us, which added a personal touch to an already fantastic evening. I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten, paired with an outstanding espresso martin and delicious au gratin potatoes! I highly recommend this place and we're already looking forward to returning next June. To top it all off, my boyfriend proposed just outside the restaurant, down by the goats, who were our witnesses for the occasion. This place will always be special to me.
