TOO EXPENSIVE!!!

Would have cost $25+ just for a basic beef sandwich, side salad and tip. They want almost $17 for a beef sandwich, and an upcharge of $4 to substitute a salad for fries. Add a 20% tip and that's $25+ for a basis sandwich and side salad! This is a real basic cafe with decent food where I used to like to come nothing fancy and they often have a long wait and things broken or out of stock. The food was decent but $25 for a basic sandwich and side salad at lunch with a $4 upcharge just for a handful of lettuce is out of control. This is not lake front dining of anything fancy here. Prices should get back to reality. I used to come here occasionally but the food is not worth it at these prices.

We have savored and exclaimed many times the amazing breakfasts and lunches here -- truly a must-have on your foodie list.

Last evening, we finally drove by in the early evening and had the opportunity to first-time try their dinners. We had / split Beef bourguignon, and I HAVE to proclaim that it was nothing short of phenomenal and memorable!

Wayyyyy beyond anything you might even hope for...

We had the chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. Every bit was home made and absolutely delicious. They ran out OJ, and went bought more just for us. The music is hip and lively. Our Server, Sarah had a great sense of humor and we were treated like we mattered. Highly recommend

Food = Fantastic
The owner yelling to leave and that they're closed at... 12:30pm, was not awesome, particularly since it was AFTER we ate and I was merely washing my hands. Was not even busy. Figure it out. No reason to talk to a paying customer who is already walking out like that. Wish I was making this up, it was a bizarre interaction.

All the staff here are super friendly, really great people. This is an excellent local spot for Dinner, Lunch, and Breakfast. Pizzas were all incredible, perfect crust. Pasta Alla Vodka was spot on. Lunch sandwiches are all great, excellent homemade bread. Pancakes were delicious, and the Eggs Benedict were too. I cannot recommend Grateful Bread enough, they are awesome!

Food was good. The wait was way too long. We waited 55’ for fish& chips and a tuna sandwich. There was no waiting line and a few empty tables when we arrived and ordered.

Staff was nice, food was not, given I only have the biscuits and gravy, but both biscuits and gravy was uneatable.

Dinner was wonderful. I knew the pizza would be good because they have already mastered bread. It was! The pasta was a great surprise and was delicious. So glad they are open for dinner now. Yum.

I absolutely adore The Grateful Bread. It was one of the first places I came to when I moved here 6 years ago, and it was where my boyfriend and I had our first date. The pancakes are to die for!! And the owners/employees are so kind and friendly. It’s by far my favorite breakfast place in the Flathead Valley… or anywhere!
