Every course was wonderful and some very unexpected. Like the soup! Wine pairings excellent. Atmosphere cozy. Service top notch. Can’t wait to return.
Vegetarian options: I don’t eat beef or pork and there were lots of options.
Blown away by my first Stone Hill experience. Everything is high quality - from the food selection and presentation, to the attentive staff, to the ambiance of a place perfect for a snowy evening. In addition, the cocktails are unique and outstanding - a dangerous combination!
Beautifully displayed dishes with a unique take on them, just wasn't my style. For appetizers we had the charttar board with brie and strawberry preserves and roasted bone marrow of which none of our family liked the bone marrow. Main dishes were okay but not enough to fill you up. Our favorite of the whole meal was the doc holiday drink that tasted like carrot cake, was absolutely delicious. The whole experience was nice but very slow drinks took 20 minutes and we were there over 2 hours without even ordering desert.
Truly incredible dining experience! My husband and I have been able to visit here twice and both experiences have been the best meal I’ve ever had. I highly recommend trying the seasonal 5 course with the wine pairings! Don’t miss this amazing food and drinks!
Stone Hill is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the trip. The dining experience was tremendous. The food and drinks were very creative and expertly prepared. We had a chance to meet the chef. He is quite talented. The service staff were amazing as well. There's a strong familial thread running through the team and they take great pride in their work.
Extremely overpriced small portions no bread or other accoutrements and extremely poor service. I’m a Bigfork resident and this was my first visit to Stone Hill. I have to say the service was really bad they attributed it to the Cook where an injury and had to go to the hospital but they could have dealt with this by managing expectations and perhaps serving a piece of bread. In fact we asked him for an extra piece of bread for our bone marrow delicacy and we were met with the reaction of we can’t make extra bread. If you have money to burn suggest you go to a nearby campsite and build a bonfire at least it will keep you warm and fuzzy
Food was very good , Took forever to have the meal , very expensive , been going to Big Fork for the month of August since 2015 . Because of COVID , we have not dined out a lot . I was looking forward to this meal . Just felt happy to leave the restaurant after what seemed like forever . , felt it could have been a lot more for the money . I wouldn’t go back .
Wonderful dining experience. Duck was best ever. Halibut was also wonderful. Homemade coffee ice cream with chocolate was great ending!
My husband and I had the luxury of visiting Stonehill not once but twice during our recent vacation to Montana. I had the Empress and the Earl cocktail and the passion fruit sour - they were both incredible. I also had the vegetarian surf n turf, which absolutely blew my mind - it was a delightful medley of textures and ingenious culinary craft, the coral mushrooms were so convincingly “fishy”, I had to re-convince myself I wasn’t eating seafood. The second night I had the bison, it was prepared a perfect medium rare and was so buttery I didn’t even need a stale knife. We took the sommelier’s recommendations for the second night and she knocked them out of the park with every course- it was delightful. I could also sing the praises of the asparagus and the tomato-burrata starter. Truth be told I could go on about the details of each dish but you should instead experience it for yourself. If you’re in Bigfork/Kalispell - go pay them a visit. You won’t be disappointed.
Food is incredible, however take a look at the wine list! Rarely have we seen such an exceptional really wide variety of options. Extremely creative and delicious pairings. If you’re looking for extraordinary experience make sure to make your reservations in advance as this place is certainly becoming found. Six stars!

Celebrated with dinner here after our wedding ceremony at Glacier National Park- we were all warmly welcomed and given excellent service. Every guest of ours LOVED their meal. I am so very appreciative of the Stonehill staff for not only an amazing meal but an amazing experience.
My husband and I had the luxury of visiting this restaurant not once but TWICE during our recent stay in Bigfork. I cannot recommend it enough. I had the Surf n' Turf (vegetarian but you can add crab) and it blew my mind. The second night I had the Bison, which was the most tender cut of meat I've honestly ever eaten, and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. (For the record, I am mostly vegan/plant based so for me to review a red meat dish with such high regard is quite telling). It was complemented with an umami bomb of a Gyoza and these ridiculous mushrooms. Between the two nights, I had more varietals of mushrooms than I've had in the last year - so delicious. I tried the Tomato starter and the Asparagus - both perfect. Also, we tried both the churros and the coffee ice cream. The cocktails: I had the Empress and the Earl, which was a floral delight and paired wonderfully with food. It's clarified with some kind of chamomile milk tea which gives it a creamy, luscious texture. I also tried the passion fruit sour which had a kumquat powder on the rim of the glass and it was elegant and perfectly balanced. Wine: The second night we took the sommelier Shyamali's wine pairing suggestions and they were fantastic. Everything was on point. Tried this super cool expression of a Chardonnay that reminded me of a fino sherry with apps and this ridiculous Chilean red with dinner (paired perfectly with the Bison, of course). I could continue going on and on but I hope instead you will go and find out for yourself! I'm sure the menu shifts with the seasons so run to try these beautiful dishes.
Perfect. Just perfect. These peeps got it dialed in. I can’t believe I don’t go there every week.
This place was absolutely superb! The staff was truly exceptional. The food has great texture, well prepared, fresh and delicious. Love, love this place!
Exceptional food, staff and facility. This restaurant provides world class cuisine that I've found to be as good and often better than high-end restaurants in California, New York, Seattle and France. Their extensive and unique wine selection that the menu is paired to is one of the best compilations in the US. I'm still amazed at the talent, professionalism, quality and uniqueness the team at SHK produces consistently. Kudos to the owners, GM, Chef Earl and the entire team! Look no further if you want a great meal and dining experience in NW MT!
