Our favorite restaurant in Bozeman! Great pizza, great salads, great wine. Amazing atmosphere and service too, especially considering how reasonable the prices are.

Delicious pasta and pizzas. Ask for a common table if the wait is long and you don't have a reservation(which I recommend).

Very busy, very tasty, surprisingly short wait because we were willing to sit at the bar. They have a limited menu that is very well done. The burrata was exceptional and the pasta was perfectly cooked and sauced. The atmosphere is buzzy and vibrant. Perfect place for a date night, maybe not great for a huge party.
Kid-friendliness: This is not a restaurant for kids. Everyone will be happier if the kids stay home, especially them.

We had dinner at Blackbird today and were not disappointed. Very tasty, regional and healthy Sicilian cuisine in Bozeman City. The service was very competent and friendly. The Penne Norma is highly recommended, but so is the homemade burrata.

This place is like trying to be trendy Brooklyn tapas pizza joint but has failed at tapas and most certainly the pizza. The menu is very awkward, only 4 options for red wine (and ran out of two of the selections - the only one left was the $18 glass which tasted like a bag of Franzia), and the pate is more like a salt explosion of butter/garlic. The kale salad was the best so far, but again, overly salted and left our eyes twitching (as I’m typing this, I can barely open my eyes and my fingers are like little breakfast links as I can barely write this review). The pizza i would give an overall rating of 2 out of 10. The dough is absolutely flavorless, the underside had way too much char for the amount of sauce and cheese. So basically the pizza tasted like a mix between soggy and burt dough. The sauce had zero taste and was borderline cold. The cheese was non existent. Spent 220 for all three of us, all three left unfulfilled. Though the build out is great, the lighting and open kitchen layout is sexy. But Design does not make good food. I would have preferred dominos over this fake pizza which is wild.

Fantastic Meal with Great Atmosphere!
We had dinner at Blackbird in Bozeman, and it was definitely worth the wait (about an hour without reservations). From start to finish, everything was spot-on.
We started with the burrata, which was served with tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinegar, and warm crostini made in-house. The cheese was amazing, and the tomatoes were incredibly flavorful—quite the treat, especially this time of year.
For our mains, we shared the funghi pizza and a bowl of tortelli pasta. The pizza, made in their wood-fired oven, had a crispy, flavorful crust that really stood out. The pasta, which was freshly made, was delicious—similar to ravioli, stuffed with spinach and pancetta, and served with a rich red sauce that packed a lot of flavor.
We paired our meal with a bottle of Sangiovese from their solid wine list, which complemented everything perfectly.
For dessert, we tried the chocolate budino, which was like a pudding-flan hybrid—not too sweet, but just right to finish off the meal.
The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Definitely a place we’d come back to next time we’re in Bozeman!
