The Gallatin River Lodge is truly a gem. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless. It was warm, attentive, and perfectly timed. Every team member made us feel like valued guests without ever being overbearing. The wine list is outstanding, offering an impressive balance of local favorites and world-class selections. Each pairing complemented the meal beautifully, and the sommelier's knowledge made exploring new wines a real treat. This is easily one of the best dining experiences in Montana.

We will try this place again. The main dinning room was closed for repairs so we sat in the bar area. The wine list is amazing - especially if you wan to try wines from countries you don't usually think about. The food was average and for the price, not a great value. We will return for happy hour and the happy hour menu (which looked very good) and update this review then.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Gallatin River Lodge! The service, food and wine were excellent. It's a small restaurant with a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

We got the specials of the night and all I can say is that all of it was outstanding. Every single thing on each dish had incredible flavors and very unique. The chef really nailed it! The service was top notch, the views and the atmosphere in general was just perfect. Their margaritas were one of the best ones I've ever had in MT. And you better leave some room for dessert, and order the olive oil, lemon cake. You will thank me later!!!

We were seated immediately and the server was pleasant and very attentive throughout our meal. Food and wine came promptly and was all excellent quality, flavor and presentation. For 3 people we had 2 appetizers, 3 entrees and 2 desserts. Ingredient questions and substitutions were handled graciously, and we felt welcome to linger over coffee and desserts. The one and only disappointment was the size/quantity of each dish for the price, even with no really heavy eaters at the table. We would likely return for drinks and an assortment of appetizers sooner than a complete meal again.

What an amazing experience from start to finish. We were welcomed so genuinely and authentically, had awesome recommendations from our server and sommelier. We were there for happy hour and pretty much ordered most of the menu. Loved EVERYTHING!! Now I'm dreaming of those chicken strips and the fondue. Sigh.

Just a fantastic experience from the moment we got there until we left...food, service, personality. The most on point restaurant I have been to in a very long time...Actually even better then the Bar Harbor Inn 3 years ago and it was over the top excellent.

We love this place! The people are friendly and professional. The cuisine is delicious and changes seasonally. The wine list is delightful and won't break the piggy bank. We enjoy coming here year round for happy hour and dinners. The view is beautiful and you can walk the grounds or stay at the lodge.

Beautiful place and a beautiful setting. The pork chop might be the best I have ever had, and the food presentation, including appetizers, was great.

Absolutely mesmerizing meal at Gallatin River Lodge. Service, flavor, and value impressed us from the first moment, creating one of the most memorable dinners we have shared. Nicholas, the Food and Beverage Director and Sommelier, welcomed us warmly and guided us to the perfect table. His kindness elevated the evening. He recommended a bottle of Nach by Milan Nestarec that danced with energy and freshness. The wine burst with wild berries, cranberry tartness, and herbal notes that lifted every bite. Balanced and lively, the wine refreshed and carried the meal. The cheese board arrived as a chef's adaptation for our preferences, with smoked salmon instead of meats. That flexibility impressed us as much as the presentation. Silky salmon layered beautifully over creamy BellaVitano on crostini with briny pearls. House-made chips, pickled vegetables, and pimento cheese rounded out the board. Every element harmonized, and the wine pairing showcased Nicholas's expertise. The harissa roasted cauliflower delivered a knockout punch. Spices created smoky heat, while charred edges added crunch and depth. It stood out as the boldest cauliflower I have ever eaten, fiery and unforgettable. For the entrée, I chose sweet potato spätzle with roasted chicken. The earthy sweetness of the spätzle worked in harmony with tender chicken and roasted mushrooms. Rustic comfort blended with elegance, and every forkful carried warmth and satisfaction. By the end of the evening, we felt fully satisfied, unable to attempt dessert, which created our only regret. The value stunned us. For less than fifty dollars per person, we enjoyed a carefully chosen bottle of wine, a cheese and salmon plate, a remarkable appetizer, and hearty entrées. Fine dining at a fraction of the cost. As the evening closed, Executive Chef Tray Mathis came out to greet us. His graciousness matched his artistry. We each shook his hand with appreciation for a meal that delivered hospitality, heart, and brilliance.

We used to love this place. The portions here are so small, and the prices so high, it's hard to get past. Ordered an “entree salad” which was the size of a side salad. Hardly any protein. Asparagus was tough. Excellent service.

Overall, we were not wowed by the experience, though the food was fine. The main issues we had were three-fold. First, the gentleman who served us was a bit off-putting for us, though his trainee was an excellent server. Second, it took a very long time for 3 smashburgers and a halibut plate to make it to our table. (The restaurant was not all that busy.) Third, and the most egregious issue to us, the salads are tiny and grossly overpriced. We paid $50 for 4 salads ($14 each for 2 wedges, $10 for a soft greens, and $12 for a roots and shoots). The rest of the food was fairly priced, we thought. Our bill was $181 for 3 smashburgers with fries (2 with eggs added) and a halibut entree. We had water to drink and the salads. That certainly was not a meal for 4 worth $221 with tip! We won't return to this place any time soon, I think.

Beautiful setting along the Gallatin River. Nice selection of wines and amazing food at fair prices. Such a serene location, will definitely be back to this hidden gem.
