Had a great time at the GRL. Stayed in the main lodge. Clean rooms - very comfortable. Sunday night meal was excellent. The restaurant is closed on Mon-Tues so make sure you adjust your reservations appropriately if you want to dine there all nights.

My wife and I were guided two days for fly fishing on the Yellowstone by Ryan Eisfeldt (3D Fly Fishing) - had a great time. Learned a lot of new tips/techniques and caught some nice brown and rainbow trout. Highly recommend him!

The description of the lodge was misleading- no river views and mountains were far off in the distance. Our room in the main lodge was spacious, clean and comfortable with large windows. The restaurant seems to be the main feature here. To enter the lodge you had to walk through the restaurant which seemed weird and awkward during restaurant hours. One night, the restaurant had a large group dining in the library directly across from our room. They were extremely loud and continued till 9:45. The lodge staff was indifferent, although the restaurant staff was very nice and went out of their way to serve and welcome you

Our family spent 4 nights here via Montana Angler. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Staff was always accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to another visit in the future

GRL is a one of a kind place with a great and friendly staff. By the end of our second day there it felt like home. Adding to the experience is dining as good as it gets anywhere. Chef Tony creates impressive and delicious plates. Sommelier and host Nicholas matches wine to your dinner for an experience you would usually find at an exclusive restaurant in a big city.

What an amazing experience from start to finish. We were welcomed so genuinely and authentically, had awesome recommendations from our server and sommelier. We were there for happy hour and pretty much ordered most of the menu. Loved EVERYTHING!! Now I'm dreaming of those chicken strips and the fondue. Sigh.

Just a fantastic experience from the moment we got there until we left...food, service, personality. The most on point restaurant I have been to in a very long time...Actually even better then the Bar Harbor Inn 3 years ago and it was over the top excellent.

We love this place! The people are friendly and professional. The cuisine is delicious and changes seasonally. The wine list is delightful and won't break the piggy bank. We enjoy coming here year round for happy hour and dinners. The view is beautiful and you can walk the grounds or stay at the lodge.

Beautiful place and a beautiful setting. The pork chop might be the best I have ever had, and the food presentation, including appetizers, was great.

Absolutely mesmerizing meal at Gallatin River Lodge. Service, flavor, and value impressed us from the first moment, creating one of the most memorable dinners we have shared. Nicholas, the Food and Beverage Director and Sommelier, welcomed us warmly and guided us to the perfect table. His kindness elevated the evening. He recommended a bottle of Nach by Milan Nestarec that danced with energy and freshness. The wine burst with wild berries, cranberry tartness, and herbal notes that lifted every bite. Balanced and lively, the wine refreshed and carried the meal. The cheese board arrived as a chef's adaptation for our preferences, with smoked salmon instead of meats. That flexibility impressed us as much as the presentation. Silky salmon layered beautifully over creamy BellaVitano on crostini with briny pearls. House-made chips, pickled vegetables, and pimento cheese rounded out the board. Every element harmonized, and the wine pairing showcased Nicholas's expertise. The harissa roasted cauliflower delivered a knockout punch. Spices created smoky heat, while charred edges added crunch and depth. It stood out as the boldest cauliflower I have ever eaten, fiery and unforgettable. For the entrée, I chose sweet potato spÀtzle with roasted chicken. The earthy sweetness of the spÀtzle worked in harmony with tender chicken and roasted mushrooms. Rustic comfort blended with elegance, and every forkful carried warmth and satisfaction. By the end of the evening, we felt fully satisfied, unable to attempt dessert, which created our only regret. The value stunned us. For less than fifty dollars per person, we enjoyed a carefully chosen bottle of wine, a cheese and salmon plate, a remarkable appetizer, and hearty entrées. Fine dining at a fraction of the cost. As the evening closed, Executive Chef Tray Mathis came out to greet us. His graciousness matched his artistry. We each shook his hand with appreciation for a meal that delivered hospitality, heart, and brilliance.

The Gallatin River Lodge isn’t really a traditional hotel or even a cozy bed and breakfast. It’s more like a handful of guest rooms attached to a restaurant on a piece of farmland, primarily geared toward hosting weddings and wine events. If you’re visiting Yellowstone and coming back in your hiking gear, be prepared to feel wildly out of place walking past groups of well-dressed guests sipping wine and listening to live music. It’s awkward, if not outright humiliating.

What was supposed to be a quiet, peaceful location was anything but. The loud, live music carried on well past 10:00 PM, making it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep.

To top it off, none of this comes cheap. If you’re here for the events, maybe it works. But if you're looking for a serene base to explore Yellowstone, you'd be better off elsewhere.

We used to love this place. The portions here are so small, and the prices so high, it's hard to get past. Ordered an “entree salad” which was the size of a side salad. Hardly any protein. Asparagus was tough. Excellent service.
